New to Area - Collierville,TN

First of all, Welcome. We moved to Collierville last april and are new too, but we LOVE it!!! We have been looking for a church as well and have like Grace Evengelical/ Evengelical Grace on Wolf River just across from Houston High School. They by far have the best kids program of anything in Collierville/Germantown, it is a big enough church to have lots going on but not so big that you get lost or feel like just a number. They are starting their bible studies in sept. on Tuesdays and have a MOPS (mothers of preschoolers) on thursdays. Welcome to the Collierville area. I dont know much about Collierville because we live in Oakland. I hear great things about Collierville and all the things to do there. I do know quite a bit about Germantown Baptist Church on Poplar right at the edge of Collierville and Germantown. They have so many programs and things to do it is unreal. They are a wonderful church if you want to exercise or just about anything. (My husband has a membership there). We took our CPR training classes there too. They have so many programs for children that I am sure that there is something for you to join.
Out here in Oakland we have a moms group that meets every month. If you are interested in that I can give you that information also. we are about 35-40min from Collierville.

There you can find groups for every interest. I am in the Olive Branch Stay at home mom's group. We occasionally have meetups at the water part in Collierville. But most of our meetups are in Olive Branch or Southaven. But that might be close enough for you. We have lots of great Christian women in the group, but it's not a church based group. We do maintain a waiting list. We limit the group to 45 to make sure we can develop close friendships with the other ladies. It's a great group! There may be others on the website as well. www.graceevan.org they have a GREAT MOPS group there....they are growing by leaps and bounds so they could be full but they are just now getting started with this years groups. They are so welcoming....I went there when I moved here 3 years ago and it really helped me get thru the transition.

We have tons of meetups - playgroups - bunco night - a book club - and fun moms!

Although I am not part of the Mom's group at Central Church (my kids are all older), they have a wonderful support for Mom's of all ages. You can find them at 2005 Winchester Blvd in Collierville. The website is www.centralchurch.com click ministries>women & you'll see a list of what we offer. It is a big church but it doesn't have that BIG feeling, we love it there. We've been there about 1-1/2 years.

I hope you find a connection soon. IMHO churches are instant family. We moved here knowing no one and have made great friends there.
