Neighborhood Recommendations in Grand Prairie/Arlington

Hello,

I am gathering info about possible areas to live in Grand Prairie/Arlington. My husband works near 360 and North Carrier Parkway. He currently has a long commute, and travels frequently, so we are hoping to simplify life a little by moving closer to his work. We homeschool our two girls, ages 6 and almost 2. My wish list: to find a neighborhood that has proximity to parks or a nature center, mature trees, front porch, a nice sense of community, safe. Our budget is between 175K-225K. If that is unrealistic, be kind to me. I don't have a sense of this part of the metroplex at all, which is why am asking for input. :)

Thank you so much!

There are some nice areas by River Legacy Park off Green Oaks/360 area that might fit your price range.

There are also some nice homes/neighborhood on the east side of 360 around Carrier/Brown Ave/Green Oaks. I stress the EAST side of 360 though for this area.

Coronado Forest is a gated community. There are some foreclosures that would work in your price range. It's in Grand Prairie off of Carrier and 20. It's a tucked away community most people don't know about. Very quiet, park outside the gates, very walkable, huge mature trees were kept by the builder, and neighborhood is only about 8-9 years old. Very friendly neighbors, great sense of community. I highly recommend it.

Stay away from the area around Glen Harmonn Elementary. We've been there a little over a year and in that short time the neighborhood has gone to sh*t. Thank goodness we're moving this weekend.

Good luck!
