I love the store Motherwear. They are a catalog/ online store but they have a fabulous return policy and great customer service. Plus, they probably will have something appropriate to wear.
My best friend is getting married next weekend and I need to find a nursing friendly tea-length black dress for her wedding. I was supposed to be a bridesmaid, but I wouldn't commit because I wasn't sure if I would have my baby in time to go. Well, the baby came a week early so we can go! Now I need to find a tea-length black dress to blend in with the wedding party. I would like to try it on rather than buy something online if possible.
Any suggestions on where to look?
I went online and checked out many placed and ended up at Target. I got a mock-wrap black dress that crossed over and was pretty low cut. I wore a black nursing tank underneath, it worked great and the best part was that the dress was only $20!

Have you tried the usual maternity stores in the mall? Motherhood, Japanese Weekend, Pea in the Pod.... Or you could always look for a non nursing dress that has a criss-cross bust that you could just pull down one side at a time or something else that could easily accomodate nursing.
Any major dept store (nordies, etc.). Look for a plunging neckline & stretchy fabric.
You may have the BEST luck in the "prom"/highschool dept... because teens and slinky/stretchy fabric go together more than the adult section where you'll find non-stretchy silks.
dont know if you have a destination motherhood there but try them...i bought a great one there exactly like you were talking about. black and tea length
