Ideas on What to Wear for an Evening Wedding in November.

I was just wondering if any moms are there can give me any "fashion" help. My husband and I are going to a wedding in November~an evening wedding. What type of outfit should I go for? I'd like an outfit that is definitely comfortable, fits the occasion, helps hide the belly area and arm area. A little arm to show is okay.

I have no time to really shop around with 4 kids. I thought this way might be more helpful. Thanks to all in advance.

What can I do next?

Our friends got married in late October in Napa, so the weather was similar (I'm guessing) to what you'll be dealing with. I found a floor-length gown that was fitted on the top half and had spaghetti straps, and then had some ruching around the tummy/hips, then flared out. It had some kind of stretchy fabric underneath and then had a sheer fabric as the outer layer and it was very flattering. I wore a wrap with it for the outdoor portion of the wedding. I think the easiest thing to do is call Nordstrom and tell your personal shopper there what you're looking for, and then go in and try everything on when your DH can watch your kids. I hate trying to find stuff to wear to weddings - those ladies at Nordstrom have saved me many times! Also, tell your shopper what your shoe size is, and if the wedding will be outdoors or indoors, and have her pull a bunch of shoes for you as well. Remember for an outdoor wedding, you won't want to wear stilettos because they'll sink into the grass. Wedge heels or flats will be better for outdoors. Good luck!

My niece had a wedding just a few weeks ago and it was in Alabama. Imagine the heat! :-( I found the perfect dress online at JC Penney for $50. It was formal without being long and cumbersome. And for sleeves there was a sheer ivory overlay that wrapped around the bust. Give them a look and see if you find something there. The sizing was accurate and perfect, great price and if it was wrong I only had to return it. The shipping was fast as well using standard shipping it arrived in 3 days. Good luck and have fun!

What will the weather be like? I say definitely go with darker colors for this time of year. I just went to an evening wedding recently and mostly everyone was dressed in blacks and purples. I had a short dark grey dress with a floral pattern. Last winter, I went to a wedding in the snow. I had no idea what to wear but ended up going with some tall boots, a knee length skirt (black), and a long sleeved beige fitted sweater with a butterfly on the front and back and pearls. I found the top at Macy's. Good luck!
