Try a sit and stand stroller

Can anyone recommend a heavy duty front/back double stroller for a newborn and a large toddler? I know the Jane would be good if I had a smaller toddler... but because my little guy is rather large, that won't work. And I am considering the Phil & Ted's. Are there any others out there (European models maybe) that I am unaware and need to check out.

I have a great double stroller. One Step Ahead sells it. It's the sit and stand stroller. I actually bought it used and LOVE it. It fold easily and isn't as clumsy as other double strollers. What's nice is that my son (almost 4) can walk beside me, or when he gets tired sit on the jump seat or stand on the landing infront of the handle.
Is there a reason that you don't want a side-by-side? The tandems are absolutely enormous. We have a Maclaren Rally Twin and it folds up as small as a dinky $12 umbrella stroller. And it's a dream to push.
I can't imagine hauling a tandem around NYC. Also, we bring a bike lock when out and about, so we can lock our stroller up and leave it while we eat or play.
Have fun shopping!
I have the Peg Perego, and I love it. There is between-the legs middle bar in the front set, just a seatbelt that goes between the legs for safety, so I have been able to use it as a triple stroller when my oldest was tired, too, or to put two kids in the front and a lot of packages in the back. It folds fairly compactly, and is very sturdy.
