Did you say birth control shot as in Depro Provera?? Don't go back on that if you're wanting control over when you have your kids. Others may not have issues with this, but, I have been on it and it messed things up badly for me. My first time getting pregnant, it was one case of a broken condom, we were not trying in any way, but apparently no issues with the reproductive system for us. Between my first two kids, I used the pill, no problems conceiving. Between my second and third, I tried the shot, went off it after two cycles because the doctor felt it was causing weight gain. After another six months, we started trying to get pregnant. I got pregnant after trying for eight months and lost it in an early miscarriage. We tried again for three months, then I finally got pregnant. After Faith was born, we used the shot one cycle, then quit. We used no protection for over two years and did not get pregnant. I did get pregnant again, went on the shot afterwards, again, took two years after stopping to get pregnant. I'm done having children, now, but my doctor said no more shot for me because it assisted me with a 36 pound weight gain in six weeks. Instead, he has me using the nuvaring and no other birth control has ever treated me better. After having issues trying to get pregnant after the shot, I heard from many girlfriends that this caused the same issues for them, one to two years of trying without success. So, talk to your doctor and ask if the shot could be the culprit in delaying conception, talk to other women and ask their experiences. I'd go with a form of birth control that does not mess with periods, in my opinion it gives you more control. I wish you well. I know how helpless it can feel.
