Hi Mamas. Tomorrow evening I'm meeting a group of kids at a function and they asked us to come up with a Get-To-Know you game. The kids I am meeting are 9-10 yr olds. I think there are around 10 of them. Most of them know each other but they don't know me or my husband very well. Thanks in advance for your help!

What can I do next?

How about playing "2 truths and a lie" (or "3 truths and a lie") where each person shares 3 or 4 interesting things about themselves. One thing that is shared is a lie, and everyone guesses which is the lie. You always learn new stuff about people that way, even if you've known the awhile.

Make up your own bingo cards with activities in the squares instead of numbers. Have the kids get up and go around the room asking kids which activities they've done. If they've done something, have them sign their name in that square. ("Activities" can also include physical traits, number of siblings, "likes to fly," etc.)

Write up the names of some famous people (that the 9-10 year old crowd will likely know). Tape a name to the back of each person. Have them go around the room and talk to others. The goal is to find out "who am I?"

Hmm, this sounds difficult. Do you mean questions for the kids like this?

-What's your favorite color?
-Do you have a pet?
-What sport do you like to play?
-What's your favorite snack?
-What do you like to eat for dinner?
-Is your room clean or messy?
-Do you have a favorite sports team?
-Name the animal you like best at the zoo.

Or you could give everyone an item and they have to find it's counterpart.
For example, one person would have a baseball & they have to find the person holding the mitt. (Coffee pot & coffee filter, etc.).

Write out a bunch of questions, such as the ones Micky suggests, and drop them into a hat and everyone picks one and everyone answers it.I have entertained many a surrogate nieces and nephews with this game.

I like the snowball game, where everyone writes something about themselves and crumples it up then everyone throws them randomly. Everyone picks up one and reads it then everyone tries to guess whose it is.
