We also had a hard time finding a non-church non-daycare preschool... the YMCA in Highland Park was EXCELLENT for my son. I live in 75228, so it's 20 minutes away, but well worth it.

I am planning to put my almost 3 year old in preschool next fall and wanted to know if anyone knew of a preschool which is not associated with a church/does not include a religous curriculum. I live in the 75229 zip code area, but am willing to travel a ways for a fantastic preschool. Thanks, JM
Thanks for all of your recommendations - it gives me numerous options to look into! I very much appreciate the time everone took to answer my question. -JM

I have heard WONDERFUL things about White Rock North school. It is secular and has a very strong academic emphasis. They are located in Lake Highlands on Kingsley (or is it still Walnut Hill there???) between SKillman and Audelia.

You are right around the corner to the BEST preschool program in Dallas. Kids from all over the metroplex attend. check out the website, listed below. Classes are back in session Jan 3. We love it. Our 2 boys are there now. It is a wonderful program. We meet at a church, but it is NOT a religious curicculum (sp?) at all. Royal & Midway. The program is for 3, 4 and 5 year olds. It is not too late for next fall at all. This a very well kept secret....It is preschool, not daycare. Most days are 1/2 days (9-noon) and it is a Co-op. Moms/parents help out one day a month. I can't say enough wonderful things.

Good luck w/ your search.....Susan
Hate to tell you that applications for pre schools are already well past due for this fall. I would look at Lamplighter on inwood, Greenhill in addison- both secular. Most of the others are religious. Maybe someone else knows?
