Need Reassurance... - Story City,IA

I'm just looking for some reassurance from other pregnant mommies who may have gone thru this. I woke up this morning, went to the bathroom and it looked like I had gotten my period. Usually, my periods are pretty light, always regular and it looked like I had mine. So, of course, I freaked out a little as I was dailing my doctor's number. They wanted me to come in and do an ultrasound to make sure everything was ok. Everything seemed fine...they said it is totally normal and just told me to call if it gets any worse or if it starts to put me in pain. I should mention that I am very early on...about 6 weeks.

I'm just nervous now! Have you moms had this happen and the pregnancy was fine? My first pregnancy, I had zero problems...easy pregnancy, easy labor, easy delivery!

What can I do next?

I had bleeding during the first trimester with both of my pregnancies that looked like regular period bleeding. I ended up with many many ultrasounds early on for both of them to make sure all was ok. I now have a 2 year old and a 5 week old, both very healthy babies! As long as your baby is showing a strong heartbeat try not to worry. I know, easier said than done, but everything is probably fine and bleeding in early pregnancy is more common than you'd think. Try to relax! Everything will be ok! :)

I bled quite a bit with my second pregnancy and was told more than once that I was miscarrying. Well, my "miscarriage" is now 11 months old and he's happy and healthy! The more I talk to people about it, the more I hear about subsequent pregnancies involving bleeding at some point. I don't know if everything is just more vascular than the first time...but they never found out why I was bleeding...but everything turned out fine. (And when I say I bled...I BLED (red, brisk) and I also spotted red and brown and pink for a while. If I hadn't already had a pos HPT, I would have thought it was just a normal period! Wishing you a happy healthy pregnancy!

Well thank goodness. You were OK. I had a scare with my third and the same thing happened. In my case she said I had done too much lifting of my two year old. So if you are lifting the other one I guess stop doing that.
The ER docs and OBs are used to us coming in half freaked so they should understand.
Try to relax and have a good pregnancy.

Yes, I had bleeding, thought it was a miscarriage, went to the ER, found out it was normal and sent home - I was sooooooo worried I had another miscarriage after anxiously waiting to be pregnant again. Once you went to the dr and they give the ok, don't worry. Eat, rest and don't stress!

Sorry, this isn't first hand, but I have one friend that bled through her whole first trimester, and another friend for a few weeks during her pregnancy. the little boy is now 4, and the girl is 3.
