I am new to Illinois, and I know nothing about any of the hospitals. I am expecting, and I will deliver at the Adventist Hospital in Hinsdale. Can anyone give me some insight about this facility?
Thanks.
Missy

Hi M.! I delivered my three at Hinsdale (the most recent 5 months ago) and had very good experiences. The LDR nurses are very good, try to get Kate she is m-f daytime, if your little one will deliver when you want them to- LOL. I found the post partum night nurses to be the not the greatest and they do check you like every hour for vitals, but I think that is typical. My blood pressure was through the roof with my last one and it really seemed if they were in my room constantly. The rooms are private and the food is decent. I'm a vegetarian and the do have a full meatless option. Don't forget as a mommy you get to order as much food as you want, not just one from each catagory. You should sign up for a tour if you haven't already. Good luck with your delivery!

I work for Adventist Hinsdale as well as delivered by first daughter there and my second child within the month. I have nothing but positive things to say about them... and do agree with the other mother about Kate, L&D RN. She was wonderful. As for postpartum, it is standard that they have to check your vitals every hour for compliance issues. They recently renovated a lot of the rooms. Overall, a fantastic experience and I have recommended Hinsdale to all my friends and family.

I had both my kids there (last one 2 years ago). But I loved it both times. All the staff were awesome, except for maybe one pushy nurse the last time! We had some concerns about my son..(he had a bowel movement in the womb, and came out kinda grayish) and the intensive care nurses were there the whole time just waiting for him to come out so they could immediately get their hands on him and make sure he was ok (which he was!)They did a wonderful job with him.
The food I also thought was pretty good.
If I decide to have one more, I will make sure I deliver there again.
Good luck!

Hi!

We delivered our 3 children at hinsdale hospital. I have no idea how other hospitals are but the rooms and staff were very nice there. They do, however, wake you up a MILLION times to check your vitals and your babies vitals.
If you have any specific questions, let me know
Good luck!

I had our daughter there 10 months ago and it was wonderful. Most all of our friends kids have been delivered there over the years. Laura Wilson is an incredible L&D nurse (nights and weekends), especially if you are trying to do it 100% natural. She was very encouraging. They took care of us very well and we really liked our post partum nurses as well (we were there for 2 days).

If you need a doctor I would highly recommend anyone at West Suburban Women's Health in Willowbrook. It's an all female practice and they are out of Hinsdale Hospital. The midwives are really great, as that is who delivered our daughter.

Congrats and welcome to Illinois.
