Need Helpful Hint for Stuck Coringware

I hope this doesn't sound stupid. My husband is the cook of the family. I've got 2 pieces of Corningware nestled together, one inside of another, for storage. They are very stuck together, and I can't get them apart. I've tried putting them in the freezer, I've tried putting water in them and heating for steam, I'm even sprayed with cooking oil and pulled and pulled. Nothing works and I'm trying not to break them either. Any ideas?

What can I do next?

Hi K.,
When we arrived here last month I found my corningware stuck together, because the person who paced it didnt bother putting anything between them. I simply ran the water in the sink as hot as it would go. Placed the two in the water about half way up the bottom pan. Let them sit for a few minutes and carefully wiggled them apart. Hopefully this will work for you as well. Good Luck!

Maybe you could try putting the exterior one in hot water and adding ice cubes to the interior one? Perhaps slick them down with oil first.

Yikes!

Hey K.,

This is only if your Corningware is metal not glass. You might want to try putting very hot water in the larger pot and letting the metal heat up once that's hot pour ice water into the smaller pot. The heat will cause the larger pot to expand and the ice water will cause the smaller one to contract and they should come apart. Heating and freezing them at the same time will cause them to shrink and expand at the same rate. I hope this works for you.

I little about me - I'm married to my blushing bride for going on 21 years and used to tutor quite a few students and seem to be the main source for a lot of friends who need babysitters.

Have a great one!

HI K., I don't know how to get them unstuck but my biggest advice is be careful! A friend of ours was simply washing her dishes one morning and the corning ware dish slipped broke and cut her wrist. She had to call an ambulence. I have had mine stick before also but luckily got them unstuck by prying, very carefully as I did not want the same thing to happen to me. So my advice is be careful. Also maybe you can call the company and tell them your problem. Good luck and let us know!! B.

Hi there, fill both pans with water so the water is over the tops of both pans in your sink use hot water. then take a few BOUNCE dryer sheets and place them in the water and soak them over night. check on them to see if they have released the next morning. if they have not, leave them for another day.

If that does not work, score the pan you like the least with a box cutter in an X and gently take a hammer and tap the handle of a screw driver with the hammer genlty in the center of the X and use the pointed side of it on the pan itself. the pan should break leaving the other unharmed.

you can also try W-D40 see if that helps.

If all else fails. throw them away and go to the thrift store and buy new ones.
