Hi P.,
Have you considered using a home daycarae? There are about 75(?) licensed home daycare providers on base, and some have infant openings.I know you mentioned wanting someone to come to your own home, but if you would be wiling to use a provider on base, you would probably be pleased. I notice you live in the same area I do, and I would offer to take your baby myself, but I already have the two infants (2yrs and under) that each provider is allowed to take. However, if you are interested (in a base daycare provider), I could ask around for you. I can't promise anything because it is hard to find infant care since we are limited to two, but I do have an inside scoop! :-)
Anyway, if you would like me to, just send me a message. Let me know things like days and hours of care, how long do you mean by "temporary", and when you need care to start.
Just in case you have any qualms...all of us (base providers) are strictly regulated and monitored. We actually had to go through a week-long training course, adn have to do monthly modules. More importantly, we are inspected once a month without notice, and we have many many rules and guidelines that we have to follow. The Family Child Care office is run by four great women who know each of us by name and face and have so much contact with us that they are very much a part of our home daycare. These women also have to follow guidelines and answer for the way we run our home daycare.
Anyway, I can answer more questions if you have them...
