My husband owns his own handyman service, Handyman-for-Rent. He's very reliable and charges $35/hr. His name is Chris and he'd be glad to try and help you out. ###-###-####.
My garage door spring broke, so I need to have it fixed. Does anyone know of or have used a good reputable company to fix it? Thanks

Kelly, this is a rather easy thing to repair yourself. Just did one for a neighbor!
If you have a male friend, buy the new spring and ask him to do it. If you do not live too far from me, I would be glad to help. I am around 91st and Switzer in OP.
Good Morning. If the broken spring over your door and wound around a shaft, then you MUST call a door company. Special tools and training are required to get it right and stay safe while doing it.
If it is an expansion spring alongside the rails, a handyman type person can replace it.
With either type, replace BOTH springs.
Make sure the door is balanced after replacement, it stall in place when opened about 2/3, neither going up any more or going down either.
I just had mine replaced by Raynor Garage Door, here is the number and website:

Yes we do, it is a family company out of Ottawa that my husband and I have used twice (at 2 different houses). Anyways, my husband went to school with the son of this company.. Anyhow, it is D&S Doors

We used Overhead door - they are fast, friendly, etc. It was about $200.
overhead garage door company. fixed mine for a fair price.
Overhead Door has always been honest and reputable.

Overhead Door is great. Or, if your husband is the slightest bit handy (mine is not, but he was able to accomplish this one), get a new spring and have him do it. I think we got ours at Sears...
Overhead Door is who you should call. They are excellent and have been around a long time. Very responsive when you call too.
