Need Family Friendly Car

Our Nissan Murano (SUV) needs to be retired. And I would like to move into something that will accomodate more kids for carpooling. Currently, I can only accomodate our 2 kids. So, I'm thinking that a mini-van or car with a third row would be useful.

We just test drove the new Honda Oddessy and the headrest is so forward that my back is not supported - not to mention that I can barely see around it when looking backwards. I'm afraid that this is a new safety standard and I won't be able to find anything comfortable.

Does anyone have any suggestions for something "family friendly, third row, safe, comfortable, quiet, good visability, not gigantic, not gas-guzzler?
Thanks!

I would go with the Chevy Traverse. It has best in class fuel economy: better than the Honda Pilot and Toyota Highlander, Best in class cargo from the third row to the door, fits three adults comfortably in third row, best in class towing, best in class gas mileage, best warranty in class, best in class fuel economy... I know you posted a month ago. If interested my boyfriend sells Chevys at Bill Jacobs Plainfield. His name is Marcus.

Hi!

We love our GMC Acadia. Ours seats 7, but you can opt for two benches instead of the bucket seats. It gets good gas (we average about 20 miles to the gallon, but get 24 highway. We have twin boys and both car seats fit in the bucket seats. Good luck!

We have a 2005 Nissan Quest and I LOVE it! We bought it at CarMax with about 18K miles on it, so it was less expensive then buying new. Therefore, we got all of the "bells and whistles" like automatic sliding doors and dvd players. It's roomy inside, can seat 7 and has a large cargo area. I have no problem seeing and I find it comfortable to drive. I also like the look of it better than other mini vans. Anyway, hope you find something that suits you!

Hi J.,
I like my Chevy Uplander (seats 7). My husband think it is a little uncomfortable (he is a tall broad man) and thinks when we get a new vehicle we should get the Chevy Traverse. Buick makes the same thing only with a few more options.
Good Luck on your search.

I have had a Honda Pilot for almost 5 years and LOVE IT! It seats 8 -- it has a third back row. The seats aren't all that big back there, but kids fit fine. I have never had one problem with it. Hondas are just built really well.
