We did a game where they wrapped toilet paper around my belly and people had to guess how many squares it wold take to go around. You can also have every one try to guess what day the baby will be born on and how much he will weigh and how long he will be. Then after you can see who was closest.
My favorite is the rice in abowl witht he small safety pins, blindfold, and time to see how many each person can get.
Another one is everyone gets a clothespin, and whoever crosses their legs or says baby- can get their clothes pin taken by whoever sees them or hears them.
Baby word scrambles are great! And the toilet paper game sit fun too!
Good luck and have fun!
The POOP Game is really fun but we used about about 7-10 candy bars just because there were a lot of people and if you use 2 or 3 the other guest get antie because they have nothing to do and we used some really funky ones like Baby Ruths, Snickers, Reeses and then of course you have to get some hard ones just so you dont have 5 or 6 winners and you can do toffee but melt it a little in the micro to soften it up. Believe me your guest will have tons of fun with it. I was creative with the letters on the diapers my daughters name is Hailey (7 letters) So I put those letters on the diaper after the game ask everybody who can guess the name of your baby (only works if you have not told anybody) this gets your guess to think or you can always spell something on them and have them unscramble it afterwords thats is fun too. Another on is get ziplocs (snack size) get lots of different powder like items ex: Oatmeal, salt, surgar, formula, anything like that (again put letters or # on them just for your answer key) and have them guess. Well those are some I dont want to overwhem you... just have fun with it!!!

We did a "Baby Pot" at my shower. (football Pot) Rather than the two teams, one side is weight and the other height. Doesnt cost anything to play, but it gets the guessing ball rolling. People were looking at me and sizing me up!!! It was funny. We xeroxed the filled out page with the birth announcement. Some people actually told me that they were looking foward to this. The person who won got a dinner for two at a restuarant. You talk about a game that lasts!!! It took 3 months for everyone to get the answer!!!!
Also, we put mine and Daddys birth size on there to really get those minds a turnin'.
I always suggest this game because its not that involved and it can go on throughout the shower. After I opened gifts, I walked around to everyone and asked them to guess. This way everbody gets a little time with me and I also thanked them for coming and for their gift. (sent out Thank you cards, also.)

Congratulations !!! It's been a long time since I went to a baby shower but I hope to go to one for my daughter soon ! The ones I remember are: measuring the mom's tummy and the one who guessed the right measurement gets a prize; baby words scrambled on a sheet of paper and the first one that gets them all right or the most gets a prize. (Prizes can be small gifts like natural soap or just anything you want to get from the dollar stores. You can Google "baby shower
games", since you have a computer and get a whole lot of free ideas. I hope you are letting your female relatives and friends help because that's the way it works the best. Ask away if you have any more questions. Have fun !
One of the most fun games I've played, both at a shower I hosted and at one hosted for me, is called "Multi-tasking Mama". You'll need a laundry basket full of baby clothes, clothes pins, a baby doll (preferrably infant life size), a cordless phone, and a clothing line. Two guests hold the clothing line at eye level or slightly higher while another guest must hold the baby while "talking" on the phone and hanging up baby clothes from the basket. The object is to see who can hang the most clothes in 60 seconds. They can't put the baby or the phone down and if they drop the baby their turn ends. Both times I played it the game was an absolute scream and everyone LOVED it! Best wishes for the new baby! Boys are great!
I just went to a baby shower last month, and I'm doing this for my baby shower in the summer... We did a scrapbook instead of games. The hostess brought the materials, and while they were serving the food, the hostess asked 4 of us to sit and do a couple of pages.. and then we would switch. We had a lot of fun doing it... Then, the hostess developed the pics from the shower, filled up the scrapbook and gave it to the soon-to-be mom as a keepsake. I thought it was such a wonderful idea, that is what I'm doing. Good luck !
Hi A., Congratulations on your baby! One fun baby shower game that came to mind goes like this: You get several different types of candy and place them in separate brown paper sacks (like lunch bags). Before you tape or staple them shut you should write a hint on each bag that has to do with babies that will make the party guests guess what kind of candy is in the bag. For example, the hint could be "the doctor's bill" for a $100 Grand candy bar. Or the hint could be "baby's clothes after nursing" for Milk Duds. Hopefully you get the idea!
The other idea that really blessed me at my baby showers was the hostess brought a package of diapers and all the guests wrote (with Sharpie markers) a message on each diaper to be read later when I started to use them. The messages could be funny or encouraging. They could be written as if from baby or not. These kept blessing later after all the friends were not around and I was sleep deprived!! Make sure to use Sharpies as other kinds didn't seem to work on the cloth like cover of the diapers very well.
Enjoy your little one---They grow so fast!

the best baby shower game is where you blind fold the person when thier sitting down with a plate on thier lap and they have to balanes a bowl on thier head with one hand with cotton balls in it, with the other hand they take a spoon and try to get as many cotton balls on the plate as possible. but the cotton balls are so light that they can not tell if there is any on the spoon and they are being so careful not to lose any off the spoon but there is nothing on it!!!
First off Congrats on your pregnancy. On your computer type out Evan's whole name about ten times. Print. Then cut each name into a strip. Buy uncooked Alphabet noodles and pour some in ziplock bags. Who ever spells Evan's whole name out first, wins the prize.
I resently had my baby shower and we had a bowl with rice and baby pins in it and you mix it together then give them 30sec to see how many they can get. Another one is get 3 diapers and get 3 small candy chocolate bars and melt them spread on each diaper and the guests have to guess what is on each diaper. Gross but fun.Bingo always fun and easy when your opening gifts. Dont forget prizes for the games also.
I got on this website and printed off some ideas.

I am making cakes for 3 different baby showers. As I am attending these showers also I wanted to give them something different as a gift. I decided to make diaper cakes for all as gifts. And as I was researching I came across these amazing websites which has a wealth of information for baby showers.Hope your shower is fun!!
Here are the websites: 1) yeahbaby.com
2) badabadababy.com
Some fun games I've played at showers.
1. Wrap a person in tp and make them look like a baby. People made diapers, rattles, bibs...all kinds of stuff from tp...very funny.
2. Had to name all the kids from famous tv shows...like brady bunch, married with children, jetsons...etc.
3. Had a tray of candy bars and teh host stated phrases and we had to guess which candy bar they were talking about (they got the candy bar that they got right). The person with the most right guesses won the prize. Example phrase - after breast feeding your breasts are like....the answer was milk duds.
I have a game and you can e-mail me at ____@____.com and I will send you the story. It is a story about you and your husband and the situtaion is that you are about to go into labor and your husband is busy trying to get everything ready and loaded in the car to take you to the hospital. There are plenty of directions and your guests will have to listen closely. You have three or four wrapped gifts that your guests pass according to the directions of the story. When the story ends, the guests that have the gifts, gets to keep them. This game works best if your guests sit in a circle. Another game that you may want to play is the Baby shower price is right. you will buy products of small value and then you will have your guests write down the price that the think is the closest to the price that you paid for it at the store. The person that is the closest and had the most guesses correct, then wins a door prize.
Hope that this will give you some ideas, and if you need and other suggestions, feel free to e-mail me and will be glad to share ideas.

You can: 1) Fill up a clear bottle/container with baby items & see who memorizes the most items after only looking at it for a few seconds. 2) Have a roll of toilet paper & have each guest take some off of the roll & pass it along - the one who has the piece that will fit around your belly is the winner. Here is also a website that has lots of ideas. Have fun!!
Here are some fun things: Fill bowl with rice and safety pins, then blindfold the participants to see how many pins they can find in the rice. (2) Roll of toilet paper: use to measure pregnant mommy tummy, then each participant tries to guess how many squares it takes to go around the tummy. (3) Baby food test: Blindfold participant and let them guess what type of baby food in each jar. (4)Clothes pins: give each guest 4 pins upon arrival, the catch is they can NOT say the word BABY doing the entire shower or they lose a pin, and the guest with the most pins at the end of the Shower gets a special gift. (5) List things every newborn needs: Give a sheet of paper and a pencil to each guest and have them to list baby items, the person with the most in (1 minute) gets a gift. Hope I've been helpful. Have a Great time and Congrats on your bundle of JOY .............
If you get one of these diaper cakes as a centerpiece or gift it makes a good game. You can have your guests guess how many diapers there are. Also, you can fill up a baby bottle with jelly beans and have guests guess how many there are. Good Luck!
Google babyshower games and it will pop up all kinds of things. i did this for my brothers baby shower.
One of my favorite games to do at showers (I've hosted quite a few)is a purse scavenger hunt. It is usually pretty funny to see what people can pull out of their purses or diaper bags even. I always put a few totally random things like a rock or ketchup packet along w/ all of the usual things and give them points: like 3 points for a lipstick or pen, 5 points for a brush or bobby pen, 10 points for a rock....the more random the better. Then who ever has the most points wins a little prize. I always have a list of items prepared beforehand so I'm not standing there making it up as I go and then people get bored.
Or we've done a baby sculpting challenge-you can use playdoe or bubble gum(kind a sticky, but so funny)and have your guests 'sculpt' a baby out of it. Usually turns out very interesting. Let the mom-to-be pick her favorite.
Hope these ideas help or at least give you some ideas to work w/. Also, I posted a question last week or so asking for dip ideas so go look on that day for some awesome ideas for your snacks.
Hope you have a great shower and congrats on the new baby.
My son is 4 months old so my baby shower was in October. We played a few games that turned out to be fun. Here are a few of the games:
1. We had my name and my husband's name on a sheet of paper. Everyone had to find as many names as possible using our letters of our names. Whoever found the most names won.
2. Everyone got a sticker when they got to the shower. Anytime you said the word baby the first person who heard you / caught you got to steal your sticker. At the end of the shower, whoever had the most stickers won.
3. We had a sheet of paper with each letter of alaphabet listed. Then you had to list a baby item that started with each letter.
Baby showers are so fun,im 24 yrs old,33weeks pregnant, with our third child...i planned all of our babyshowers, and we had a blast..one game that is really fun to participate in and to watch,is the feeding game..u get 6 ppl to partner up in two's...one is feeeding and the other is eating...but they are both blindfolded...we used chocolate pudding, but u can use anything ur guests can stomach...who ever finishes their pudding first with the least amount wasted,wins....
Another one that we played that was funny,is a cotton ball game,it is timed..we times ours at 30 seconds...u get a jar of vaseline,go to each of ur guests and ask them to get some on their finger...any amount they want, then they put it on their nose.....(its best ot not let them know what they are geting the vaseline for,so everyone gets a different amount)then u have a bowl of cotton balls..the object of the game is to see how many cottonballs they can get to sick on thier nose, and drop,by shaking them off or whatever they have to do,to get it off,and stick their nose in the bowl again and again..till thier time runs out....they cant use thier hands.. Whoever gets the most cottonballs out,wins......
Well i hope i explained the games to where u can picture them in ur head, and maybe use them.... I hope u have a great babyshower and have lots of fun.....J.
HI and Congratulations!
One thing that I think is really nice is to request on the invitation that instead of a card, people include a children's book with their signature and a note to the baby inside the cover. You can easily find a book for the price of a card, and that way as Evan grows up and you read to him, he can see how many people loved him before he was even born!
Good luck and lots of love,
Sherri Jones
Are you throwing your own baby shower? Someone else should be doing that for you! I always liked the game where you make a list of weird items and see who has the most in their purses. You could put things on the list like nail clippers, rulers, hair spray, scissors, pantyhose, condoms, etc.......
Well you should do what I did. Have a Diaper baby shower. Were everyone brings a pack of diapers with there regular gift. your probably thinking well thats rude to ask for two gifts but heres the catch. everyone that also brings a pack of diapers put there name in a drawing to win a gift just for them. My Aunt did a basket with like candles and stuff women like, well you get the idea. get creative with it. trust me the diapers came in really handy i did not have to buy any for his first 4 months. there is also a game its really out dated but it was fun have people take a role of toilet paper and guess how many squares around you are. also there is the baby food game where you rip off the label and number the jars and have people guess what is in each one. who ever gets them all right wins a prize. Where I used to work on of the women I worked with did this one game for her daughters baby shower where you buy like 3 or 4 candy bars( it seems nasty but she said every one had a blast) any way you take the candy and mush each bar in your hand and make it look like (poopoo) ha ha lol any way you put them each in a diaper and have your guest guess what kind of candy bar it is. Here is an idea you could also do if you are going to have any kids there like a little sister or cousin. 8-10 years old, you could buy like a disposible camera and let her take pictures from her view of the shower. I also recomend taking your own pics. just in case she didnt aim very well. it would be fun seeing what all the child can capture. Well I hope all of this helps you out. have fun and congradulations with the new bundle of joy. K.
The matching game is a big hit. There are names like doctor bill. If they turn over the match they get a 100 grand candy bar or baby girl would be sweet hearts. Every match gets a candy bar. I did this on 8x10 pieces of paper and I was on the floor truing the papers over. Which the guests love because they just sit there. The doctor would be a butterfingers that they would win. Anyways, I have the list and the name of the candy bars if you want them.E-mail me back if you are interested.
My friends threw me a baby shower w/my 2nd child & did something I have never seen before....they put the following on the invite-
Admission: 1 pk diapers
Everyone thought that it was a cute idea & I had diapers for the first 3mos! (the stores will exchange them for different sizes if the baby outgrows them)
Congrats & good luck!
The rice game with the safety pins is fun. I also have 2 more that are a big hit. The first would be to take 10 brown lunch sized bags and put a small baby item in each. Nail clippers, rattles, spoons, outlet plugs,..., usually work really well. Fold over the tops of the bags and staple. Make sure each bag is numbered from 1-10 and give each guest a paper and pen. They need to feel the bag and make a guess as to what is in it. They may not open the bag but they can feel all they like. This is usually a fun game that really breaks the ice. After that game is over, I play the Bloomer Game. You really play up the fact that there are "bloomers" in the box and whomever gets it has to wear them! You buy a corsage and wrap the box multiple times (I do 6-10 based on the amount of people attending). Then the game is played like "hot potato" where it gets passed around to the music. Once the music stops, whomever has the package in their hand has to unwrap a layer. The game keeps going until the final layer is opened. The game goes faster and faster because nobody wants to "wear the bloomers". In the end, the winner opens the box expecting the worst but gets a nice corsage of flowers "bloomers" to wear. The only time it is not fun is if it has been played before with most of the same people because they know the gag.
Congratulations on your pregnancy and good luck with your baby shower. If you think you may be interested in speaking with a doula about possibly helping while you are in labor and delivering, just give me a shout. I'd be glad to talk to you!
The funniest game I ever played at a baby shower was the diaper game. You get infant diapers and then you put a different chocolate mini candy bar in each diapers. First you number the diapers and you have to make a list of which candy is in each diapers. Then you pu the diapers in the oven or microwave for a few minutes to melt the chocolate and bring them back out. You pass the diapers around on a tray and each person has to figure out which candy bar is in each diaper. Those cnadies look so much like little poops and people are smelling them, wanting to taste them, it was hilarious to watch.
Another quick and inexpensive game is when each person arrives at the shower you give them a blue diaper safety pin and pin it on them. As they talk to other people at the shower if they say the word baby in conservation then you can steal their safety pin. The person who ends up with the most pins win.
I have attended tons of baby showers and the toilet paper game is always fun. What you do is...... stand where all your guests can get a good view of your tummy. Then pass a roll of toilet paper around to your guests and they can guess how many squares (round) you are. After everyone is done. You will then wrap the toilet paper around your tummy and count how many squares fit around your belly. The person closest to right amount of toilet paper squares - wins!!!
Good Luck!!
Hi A.,
My daughter just had a girl & we gave her a baby shower about a month ago. It was a lot of fun. I think the most unusual fun game was to get the very small safety pins and drop about 20 into a bowl of rice. then blindfolded the guest try and find as many pins as possible in 1 minute. its harder than you think. we had 2 bowls going at a time and you only need small bowls.
The other game was baby bingo. Have premade bingo sheets made up with empty squares. As guest come in give them them a copy and tell them to fill in the squares with the baby items of their choice and to hold on to the sheet for further instructions. When it comes time to open the gifts have the guest mark off the items on their sheet as the items are opened, whoever bingos 1st wins. You can make it whatever you want, just a one line bingo, an X, ect... choice will be yours. When making the Bingo sheets don't forget the free square in the middle!.
For a door prize we filled a baby bottle with jelly beans and had everyone write at the top of their bingo sheet how many jelly beans were in the bottle and they won that game.
The shower was alot of fun.
I sell Avon so for a few months prior to the shower I started purchasing items that were on sale, nothing over $3.00 to give away as gifts and the door prize. This worked out well, the guest got good products and was very resonable for me money wise. I would be happy to show you some items that would be resonable for you in some of my books. Either way I would start shopping around now for cute little inexpensive items to use as gifts.
Also for yourself I would register at Walmart, Target, Babies R Us, in the store (and on line for those who don't like to get out and shop much). At Babies R Us they supply you with invitations, something that can help with the cost of a shower. I am not sure where you are located but there is also a store on 45n & Richey Rd. I think its called Babys 1st Furniture. They have furniture, clothes, strollers, all kinds of things. Its a very nice store, my daughter got her Baby bed from there. I beleive you can register there also.
Also hand out envelopes with your Thank You cards inside as the guest come in and have them self address them. Have a basket or something for them to drop it in when they are done. This way when your busy with your newborn that is one less thing you have to do and you will get everyones address you may not have had.
We also had everyone name as many songs as they can with the word baby in the title.
We also made a door wreath out of diapers and other little items such as baby rattles, socks, bibs ect... it was really cute. If you want pics e-mail me and I'll shoot them to you.
Good luck with your shower & have fun,
C. Harrold

hi!! I had to rspond, because I love playing games at showers! I also have an almost 1 year old, named EVAN!! I played a game with newborn diapers and a variety of candy bars.First number your diapers 1-5. You place the slightly mashed candybars; butterfingers, 3Musketeers, Snickers, Hershey bar, KitKat. You can microwave them for a little added effect! Then fold up as if on the baby, and pass them around for everyone to open and guess what the candy is. The best part is watching some people stick their noses in the diaper to smell the candy!! I thought it was halarious. The game could be- Name that Diaper!
