Okay, don't laugh...I have been shaving the hair off my upper lip for...oh, 10 (?) years now! I only need to do it like twice a week. It will NOT grow in thicker, I promise! Try it ;)
I really need some advice. Over the past couple of weeks, I've noticed the hair on my upper lip is significantly darker. It is getting so dark that my husband even commented on it. I have a theory that some prescription medications I've recently started taking are the cause for this change, but they are not something I can stop taking at this point. So which is better...waxing or bleaching?

You can still see the hair, even if it's blonde. (especially, in the sun.) My sister has blonde hair on her upper lip and has mentioned she's glad it isn't dark, so people won't notice it. I had actually noticed it a long time ago, but would never say anything. If you don't want people to notice at all, go for the wax. Bleach would make it much less noticeable, and someone would need to be a bit close to notice.
I agree with Bug. I think waxing would be better. It might even keep it from growing in as much.
Maybe you can save up for some electrolysis. It can be expensive, but since it's a small area, it might not be so bad. It could permanently remove at least the really dark hairs.
Just an idea.
well being blonde i have notice my upper lip recently. i would wax. cuz im seeing the blonde. so that would still be noticeable to me.
I agree with the shaving...you can get a little personal trimmer in the cosmetics section of drugstores...$10 or so & about the size of a pen...a little fatter
everybody has hair on their lip, its just most of us have it so light its not seen..(as a matter of fact hair covers every inch of out bodies other than our palms and feet bottoms).if you bleach it it should be the same as it was before. If you wax it then itll be another thing you have to remove hair from.
My friend has this problem, she waxes it, it never gets any thinner, i always assumed bleaching would be easier.
what about sugaring, it's not as painful as waxing!
Its not a major commitment either way try both and see what you prefer. I think waxing is easier, but leaves me with small acne so I bleach instead.
As 'LovingLife' mentions, I, too, shave my upper lip...BUT NOT CLOSE/NOT W/A RAZOR...that scares me!! I use my nose-hair trimmer as it is so small, it is easy to control and not get too close. I only have to do it once or less per week. NO PAIN, and no extra money as I already had the trimmer!! :o)
Sally Hansen makes these wax strips that you can heat up from rubbing your hands together and then put on the lip area. I LOVE these. I have seen people who bleach and they just look like blonde fuzzies instead of smooth skin. But, I would try both and see what you think. Good luck.
I vote wax if those are your only two options ... I use a femanine trimmer that has a eyebrow/lip as well as a vaginal hair attachment to remove my unwanted lip hair. I find that I use it every few weeks as needed.
Waxing.. I do it myself.. Might take a few times to get the hang of.. Do u have an ultra beauty store by you.. I like surgi wax.. After microwave wax stir let cool for few minutes. Till it thickens a little.. Works great.
