Need a Toddler Play Area near Abington

When we visited my mother-in-law for Christmas her mall had a great play area for younger kids with big trucks and planes, etc. on which the kids could crawl. The whole area (free) was padded slightly and sunken in with seating around the outside for parents. It was wonderful. Is there anything like that in this area? I know of Smith Playhouse (center city) and Kicks-n-giggles (NE Phil), but I want something closer and, perhaps, simpler. Basically what I need is a place where my 2 year old son can get some exercise and burn off energy when its rainy and cold outside.

What can I do next?

Have you been to Kidgits at the Oxford Valley Mall in Langhorne? Kidgits is very similar to what you are describing. I have been attending One Fit Mama (www.onefitmama.com) for about a year now and my 18 month daughter loves it! The moms and tots hang out at Kidgits afterwards for coffee and play time! You should join us. A few a my friends live in Roslyn; they say it takes about 30 min. to get to the OVM.

Hi K.,

I am not sure of amy indoor play areas in that area. But I do know that there is a great outdoor playground off of Church Road in Cheltenham. Spring should be here soon!!

I don't know of any play areas in Abington but Oxford Valley Mall has one. It's on the 1st floor outside of JC Penney. I hope this helps you.

Hi - I have two quick thoughts - neither particularly close though. One is IKEA. In the kids section it is a ton of fun to crawl through the rooms, play with the toys, etc. They also have a ball room and really cheap lunch! It is good for a couple of hours and surprisingly quick to get there from Abington (I live in Abington too!). Second, but further, is Giggleberry Farm up in Peddlers Village. I went early on a sunday to get there when they open (it was either 10 or 11) and it only took like 25 minutes to get there - very simple directions as well. Anyway, they have a Merry go round, a two story ball room, and a toddler play area plus video games for older kids. It was around $15 for access to all three areas, but you may end up figuring out that all three is too much. They have a pizza place for lunch as well. It was a zoo by the time I left at 1 so I do recommend the earlier time frame.

I am interested to hear whatever else says!
