Hi ladies. I have recently decided to stay at home with my two girls. I am kind of at a loss of what to do all day with my two year-old. We've done the zoo, which is always an option because we have a pass and gone to the park. Now that it's getting colder outside, i'm not sure what other activities are around the area. Does anyone have any suggestions on things to do during the day around the Keller area?

What can I do next?

Hi G.!

Congrats on being able to stay home with your babies!! It's the hardest and most rewarding job out there!

My advice to you is to join a moms group. There are many in this area: MOMS Club, MOPS, Mothers & More, and I'm sure many others that I don't know about.

I joined my local MOMS Club chapter when my daughter was born (2000) and I left my job. It has been my saving grace! Not only will you find friends for your kids, but also wonderful friends for yourself! I don't know much about the other kinds of moms groups, but MOMS Club offers playgroups, activities/outings, mom's night out, etc. The annual dues for most chapters is around $25. You can locate a chapter in your area by going to www.momsclub.org and send them an email requesting info.

Good luck!!

:-) H.

Hi G.,

You can also look on mommyandme.com to try to find a playgroup. Here are some ideas for outings: NE Mall play area (you can also join their Kidgits Club for $5/year - you'll receive coupons when you go to the mall and they send special event notifications to you); Fort Worth Museum of Science, McDonald's play area, Cabela's (sounds strange, but they have a huge aquarium and lots of stuffed animals - my daughter LOVES going), Chucky Cheese, Let's Jump. Have you thought about enrolling your 2 yo in a dance or gym class? My 3 yo dances once a week at King & Roberts (on 377). It's for an hour and 15 minutes starting at 9 am. Once I pick her up, we get back home, have lunch and then it's naptime. So that helps make the day go by. If I think of anything else, I will post again.

PS: I am in the MOMS Club too. It really is a great group to belong too!

2 things that I do is our local mall (and probably yours too) has an indoor play area for kids that is great to take kids to, exp right before nap time lol. Also you can look up activities at your local libraries as well. The one by me has story time every friday at 10am. They do a song, 2 stories, another song and then a quick craft and its all free. Also I like to alternate weeks with a friend or 2 of mine for a playdate at eachothers house. We let the kids play for a bit, give them lunch and then go our seperate ways for naptime. Oriental Traiding also has GREAT prices on crafts!

Cooking calsses, gymnastics, swimming lessons, art & crafts. You name it they have it! If your not close to Hurst Check your local recreation center!
