Need a Recommendation on a Good Shampoo for 18 Mnth Old.

I have received great comments about skin cleansers to use on my little one with very sensitive skin. I have decided to stay away from harsh products with lots of chemicals in it and stick with my baby aveeno and cetaphil.

But, I also need some suggestions on a shampoo that I could use on her hair. I am currently using Johnsons Shampoo. I find that it is very drying and not working for my baby since she also has dry scalp. I have even tried the extra conditioning Johnson's, but it still dries her hair out. I'm looking for something that will help with the dry scalp but be gentle and have good conditioning properties in it. Any sugesstion will be greatly appreciated.

What can I do next?

Grins and Giggles by Gerber. They make a sensitive formula that is great for my 3 year old prone to yeast infections. They also have a lotion that is really good too. Also try the Aveno line, I have heard they are good. Stay away from shampoos with heavy fragence

Hello! My little guy has dry skin too. I used the cetaphil on his body and for his hair. Then I would put a little baby oil on his scalp to help with the dryness. Hope this helps! Good Luck!
Take Care,

You may want to try rubbing some oil on her scalp a couple times a week in the bath. you could use olive oil (the extra virgin has a pretty fragrant odor but it washes off.) You could also use jojoba oil. Try to rub that in and then gently rub in. Finally, wash out. This may help.

You can also use the Aveeno on her hair. My son has sensitive skin as well, and I use the Aveeno to wash his body and his hair.

Hi! I sell Arbonne Products and use Arbonne Baby Shampoo and Wash on my 14 month old boy. He has taken a bath each night since he was born and it has never dried out his skin. Arbonne products are different from other products because:

o pH correct: Skin care pH of 5.5 insures maximum benefit.
o Hypoallergenic: Voluntary human testing meets Hypoallergenic substantiation claim criteria.
o Dermatologist tested: Voluntary human tests done under the watchful eye of an independent Dermatologist.
o Never tested on animals: Voluntary substantiation and safety testing is performed at independent laboratories on human panels.
o Formulated without animal products or by-products: Plants and herbs together with science and technology offer superior benefits.
o Formulated without mineral oil: Occlusive oil that can interfere with skin functions as well as advanced delivery systems.
o Formulated without dyes or chemical fragrances: Dyes and Fragrances are known irritants and can cause allergic reactions.

My daughter has had really bad eczema her entire life (she's 3) and it's on her head. I don't know if your daughter has eczema or not, but there is a baby shampoo for that that is really gentle and since you use aveeno, they have an all over was that you could use on her hair. I used to use that. Hope this helps.

I use a shampoo by a company called MOP (Modern Organic Products.) They make a pear shampoo for infants and toddlers that smells wonderful and is very conditioning. I used to use a separate conditioner for my toddler's hair but now use only this shampoo. I purchase it from my hairdresser, Glenn at G Patton Salon in Norfolk. You could probably find it onine though too. Hope this helps.

Try using the Cetaphil on her hair. Not only is it gentle and conditioning, as you know from using it on her body, it's reasonably priced.

So my dr. told me to use Dove Sensitive bar or cetaphil for his body and his hair. At this point, they're not producing enough oil or anything to warrant a shampoo it's self. And the sensitive soap will protect the skin on their scalp.

Good Luck!!

My son has exzema, and he also had a craddle cap when he was a baby, his scalp was always dry, so she told me to use head and shoulders, and it worked great, you just have to be carefule when rinsing her hair that it doesn't get in her eyes, but it does work and help! I'm not sure how your little girl likes stuff on her face, but we got my son some swimming goggles to put over his eyes, and it keeps the soap from running into his eyes.

Good Luck

So many people are unaware of the harsh products with lots of chemicals right in our homes. Many shampoos and other household products have formaldehyde in them because it is a cheap preservative. When I found that out I stopped using Johnson & Johnson's products and started using KP body & hair wash and my 6 month old's eczema and severe diaper rash was completely gone after one week!

My son has very sensitive skin, allergies & ashthma and we've been through many shampoos, soaps, lotions, medicines, etc. I've finally found something that works! It's all-natural Koala Kids Tear Free Shampoo & I also combine in it a drop of tea tree oil every other washing (which also helps with cradle cap). I get them through a wholesale online company (all products are all-natural). If you want more info on these products let me know.

Hey S.,

One of the best baby care lines I have found is Arbonne Baby Care. The Hair and Body Wash is a GREAT mild, tear free option! (Two of the key ingredients are aloe and oat.) Check out www.wearesix.myarbonne.com to see all of the baby products and read reviews. Once on the site, click on products and scroll down to baby. (this site is a work in progress, but you'll be able to view all products)

Regards,
C
