I am struggling with deciding on vaccinating my daughter I really don't think I am going to, but if I do it will be when she is much older. My currant pediatrician (all of them there) seem to make u feel like the scum of the earth if I do not vaccinate, and now they refuse to care for my daughter any longer because she is not vaccinated. I know there are more parents out there that don't vaccinate, and I just wonder if they have found a ped that will take them? I need a doctor that will be understanding about our decisions. My daughter is only 7 months right now, and I really need a caring, understanding doctor that wont make u feel like u are a bad parent for not vaccinating and will see us even if we don't. Please help the thought of no one helping my daughter if she gets sick scares me. :-/
Searching for a very caring ped? in any areas of marietta, kennesaw, acworth, dallas/hiram if i have to, cartersville, or even atlanta where ever I have to go to get a caring doctor.

while we are at it does anyone know any homeopathic doctors for adults or kids?

What can I do next?

Karen Thrower at Kennesaw Pediatrics ###-###-#### is awesome and never pressures me as I do a variation to the vaccine schedule based on Dr Sears' book. I also say no to shots I feel are superfluous, such as ChickenPox or Flu. She's also very "real world" when I ask advice regarding food or manners, and never pressures me or gives advice unless I specifically ask for it. You are the parent and it's your choice how you keep your child healthy. Good luck:)

I’m sure by now, you have gotten all sorts of responses and I truly hope you are still reading them…I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Brianna Brugner with Kennesaw Pediatrics. The link is http://www.kennesawpediatrics.com/
Phone number: ###-###-####

My awesome experience with Dr. B (as she even refers to herself) has been since before my child was even BORN! I was hospitalized for pre-eclampsia and hadn’t made the rounds to the pediatricians offices to pick one just right for my child. My husband called Kennesaw Pediatrics and they had Dr. B come to see me in my hospital room while she was doing her rounds at Kennestone! NO OTHERS EVEN OFFERED!
Dr. B is a young, progressive doctor who is AWESOME with kids and us parents – (I can’t say the same for some of the other doctors there, though…great with kids, not so much with parents. I think both is very important!) Even though I have chosen to vaccinate my child, I ALWAYS asked questions first and Dr. B gives good, thorough explanations to let the PARENTS choose the direction they wish to go. She does not force her opinions either way...just gives you the facts. In fact, when I was undecided about the MMR, Dr. B gave us facts, told us it was our choice, and even said if we didn't want to do it then, it was ok to even wait. Just recently for my child’s 30 month WCC Dr. B said my child was due for a Hep A and the H1N1 vac. was also available. Due to my husband's line of work and being around foreign travelers and the like, we wanted to make sure our child was well protected, but I was concerned about giving both at the same time. What if she had a reaction? We wouldn’t have known which one is was from… Dr. B offered up the answers to our questions BEFORE WE EVEN ASKED THEM! THAT, my friend, is a great Dr….and that is why I highly recommend her and only her!

I have read on a few postings related to Smyrna, GA area that some doctors in the Kennesaw Pediatrics group are open to the alternate vaccine schedule. Personally I do not have experience with them, but did read a posting regarding that group being friendly.

Just go in and don't say anything about her not being vaccinated. The little care centers may not be bad. I use Dr. Parker at the Kennesaw Kennestone affiliated center at Cherokee Street near Jiles. He is very good and kind.
Alt. chiropracter Dr. Gardner ###-###-#### - helped me get over CANCER and tons of stuff with natural treatment and vitamin supplements. Unbelievable.

I don't know of any but just wanted to let you know you are not alone. We go to Kaiser and we were very unsure about vaccinations as well. We have been through every ped doc there and one was understanding, all others made us feel like poop. It has been scary and frusterating. Our little girl is 19 months and we decided to do our own schedule of vaccines and everything is fine.....good luck : )

We too are doing an alternative vaccine schedule. All the docs at Kennesaw Pediatrics www.kennesawpediatrics.com in Kennesaw are open to discussing all the pros/cons. They have always been open to listenting to our concerns and they finally allowing us to make the decision we feel best for our child without judgement or condescension! We really like the office/staff/docs and think you will too.
