Hi all,
I need to find a new pediatrician who understands the differences between breastfed and formula fed babies. In other words, that breastfed babies are leaner and don't weigh as much or grow as fast as formula fed babies. I've had some bad experiences with my pediatrician. The worst is that he thinks I'm challenging his authority when I ask a question. He's also sent me to the hospital with my baby on a false alarm twice (both times his equipment was malfunctioning). I'm in the Austin area, south. Thanks!
I'm going with SW Pediatrics. Thank you so much!

Central Family Practice is really great, although they don't take insurance....good if you don't have it; not so good if you do I guess.
And as a side note, I get what you're saying but both my babies were exclusively breast fed for almost a year and were fat little dumplings. And my husband and I are both very lean.
Good luck finding a dr.!
We go to Dr. Valarie Wheelock at Barton Creek Pediatric. She's awesome.
My daughter (exclusively breastfed) was always small and lean.
We did end up doing tests, etc to make sure nothing else was going on, but that was when she was two and had literally fallen off the charts. And it was usually presented like, "I'm not worried, but if you want to get a bone age done for your peace of mind, that's fine."
I like Dr. Tarrant on Bee Caves

All of the doctors are great. We use Dr. Fasci.
