I use Desert Canyon Pediatrics on 40th St and Bell Road, Dr Ernest Dorame is the pediatric doctor my kids see, they love him.
Do to insurance changes I have change pediatricians for my kids. My 5yr old daughter hasn't eaten in 3 weeks. I picked one new doctor and she just drew blood and when that came back normal she just left it at that. Its a big practice and its VERY Busy. So I tried another DR. A small practice. When I got there the waiting room was empty (that should have been a sign) anyway the dr was very rude. Yelled at my 2 year old son for trying to stand by his sister while he was talking. Was not friendly with my daughter at all. Didn't tell her what he was doing, nothing. It was awful. I can only change dr's one more time this year for my kids. I NEED one that is kind and caring and will take me serious and will truly care about my kids. Is there one of those out there?? Please Help!

This is another vote for Paradise Pediatrics. We have seen all the doctors and have been happy with them all. My only complaint is the wait time, and I think that is an issue everywhere.
Dear N.-
I changed Pediatricians when my daughter was very young because I felt the last one just didn't seem to care. I now use Dr. Namjoshi at the Scottsdale Childrens Group. Here is a his website with his info.

I was referred to him by a friend of mine after I told her how unhappy I was with my last doctor. Her kids LOVE him. Mine do too now. It is a busy office, but I have seen a few of the other doctors when mine wasn't available and I like them too.
Just to let you know what kind of Dr. he is. I was discussing vitamins with him, and told him I gave them Flintstones with immunity support. He told me to take them off of those and put them on regular Flintstones. He thinks that we are not allowing our children to build up there own defenses and we are weakening their immune systems. He doesn't prescribe things to get you out of the office. He wants to take the least invasive route possible. He then told me about a boy that was coming to him after seeing other doctors for severe migraines. He said they tested and tested and couldn't figure out what was causing the problem. He said that after talking to him extensively - he found out that the boy was taking those "Vitamin Packs" that include several different Vitamins. He was getting to much Vitamin A and I forget the other one, and THAT was causing his headaches. He got off the vitamins and he was fine within days with no more symptoms.
I really like my doctor and would not hesitate to recommend him to ANYONE!! He greets both of my children by name (he even saw us at a restaurant and remembered their names!!) and is always warm and funny. Just to give you some more options.
Your daughter not eating is very scary at her age. I would want someone who really cares. He is very straight forward and honest. Good Luck and I hope your daughter starts eating again soon!!
Hello,
My entire family (the ones that have children that is)take our children to Dr. Ceimo - Paradise Pediatrics. The staff is wonderful and very friendly. They are located on Tatum & Shea.
I believe the phone number is ###-###-#### or ###-###-####. I hope this helps.
Camelback Pediatrics - See Dr. Alexander or Dr. Scharff. Best of Luck!

I really like my son's pediatrician, Jennifer Caplan at North Scottsdale Pediatrics. It is a large practice but they never keep us waiting and a nurse is always available by phone for questions. They have office at 92nd St.& Shea as well as a new office near Grayhawk (I think.)
I dont know if you found a pediatrician yet, but my sons is great! His name is Dr. James Padrez, his office is located in the Point Offices on 16th St & Northern, not quite Scottsdale, but I live in Arrowhead and drive my son to him. He was actually my pediatrician when i was younger, and is also now my brother and sisters, who are 3 and 4 years old. He is a very aweet and gentle person, talks more to the kids like he is a kid himself. Anyways, if you have any more questions, feel free to ask anytime : )
What you should try is a physician who specializes in pediatric internal medicine. Try Fountain Hills Pediatric & Internal Medicine.
I love our pediatrition. It is Desert Sun Pediatrics on Tatum and I believe close to pinacle peak. It's a little drive for us but it's worth it. There are three very nice Dr. there and the staff is very nice as well. We have been going there for over four years now with our three children.
I take my kids to Dr. Albert Pepka. His office is right behind Paradise Valley Hospital. It is a small office but I really like and my kids do to! The front office staff is nice and helpful! I also like all the nurse practicioners and nurses there.
I go to Pardadise Valley Pediatrics on Tatum and Shea. I see Dr. Drummond. I have had no problems with her and her staff is great!-Good Luck!
N.,
I interviewed a lot of pediatricians prior to picking ours! My husband and I are in love with her!! We use Dr Anne Garrett, MD of the Scottsdale Children's Group. They have two locations, one on Shea and the other on Osborn. Dr Garrett practices out of the Osborn office (Which is a bit of a hike for us, but well worth it!) You can find all of their information and all of their doctors bios at www.scottsdalechildrensgrop.com. Best of Luck!
i have a almost 2 yr old and 8 month old.... we went through 5 doctors annd drive an hour and a half for dr. hauben.
our 2 year old is terrified and screams but he is always very nice. he never makes you feel rushed or stupid if you have questions. sometimes he gets busy and there is a small wait but i think its because he gives everyone the time they need.
i hope he is on your insurance. Dr. Steven Hauben
he has 2 offices, 91st st and shea. And scottsdale rd and osborn. i like the shea office! good luck not eating in 3 weeks is a big problem, no one should over look that
I understand your frustration after 5 doctors I finally found a wonderful doctor. My daughter is also 5 years old and loves her. She is very caring and really takes the time to listen. It might be a bit of a drive but a good doctor is worth it. The practice is called Phoenix Pediatrics, they do have 2 offices. Here is there website http://phoenixpediatrics.com/
I think that my daughter has seen everyone in that office and they are all wonderful. Her favorite is Dr. Shannon Forshey.
Hi N.,
Sorry you've had such problems with your Peds...I'm experiencing a similiar thing with my daughter's ENT. Anyway, I LOVE our Pedi. Her name is Dr. Mary McGee and she works at Cactus Children's Clinic. It is at 53rd Ave and Thunderbird. We are actually in N. Phoenix, but I still make the drive to see her. There are several other Docs in the practice, some I like, some I don't. If Dr. McGee isn't available, Dr. Jason Vargas is also really good. Dr. McGee has been practicing for a lot of years and reminds me of my Grandmother. She takes tons of time to listen to our worries/concerns. We never feel rushed and really feel she listens to us. Dr. Vargas is very similiar. Anyway, that's my recommendation. We've had a lot of problems with my daughter's ears, chronic infections even after getting ear tubes so we go to the Dr. A LOT!!!! I'm very happy with their care of her.
Hope that helps, T.
I highly recommend N Scottsdale Pediatrics...in particular Dr Jennifer Caplan, but all the doctors at this practice are wonderful and very caring. Their main office is located on 92st and Shea, right behind Scottsdale Healthcare.
