Natural Makeup

I'm sorry I don't. I use Aveno face lotion and mascara...that's all I do. Anymore and my skin will be horrible. If I wear eye shadow, my eye lids will crack and bleed...it's no good. That's why I'm paying to have my makeup professionally done for my sister's wedding, because I'd have to spend that much money just buying my own makeup to use once. (It's only $30.)

So do you need a foundation? If not, maybe try to go without it and just find a good lotion to use.

Nope. Even the 100% natural 100% organic stuff has titanium and zinc or iron.

I am curious, I have never considered make up to be such a threat. Would you go into more detail about why it's so important? I have not worn make up in such a long time and I have not heard that it's supposed to be dangerous now.

Isn't zinc the sunscreen that blocks the UV rays? I am very interested in this, not being rude or mean, just want to know.

Make up CAN be natural and there are people that do make a truly great product without the nasty ingredients of conventional make up. Ava Anderson Non Toxic make up is a great brand and HoneyBee Gardens may be something to look into. I have never tried it but this store http://www.poofscloset.com/servlet/StoreFront carries it and they are extremely dedicated to using natural ingredients and absolutely NO harmful ingredients.

I am definitely going to check out the Organic Divas website that A L. posted below! Also, www.etsy.com is a great place to find companies that sell completely safe cosmetics. Most of those companies to full disclosure on their ingredient lists.

I have not researched natural makeup but I have seen a lot of make-up at Whole Foods. Maybe check it out and ask the sales person the details of their products.

Try Ecco Bella. I love their line. Organic and free from garbage.

I use bare minerals but I don't know what's in it. I like it because it doesn't look like heavy makeup and it's quick to apply. Good luck in your search.

check out Ava Anderson Non Toxic....there's a powder foundation, lipstick, blush and mascara. I've never used it so I can't tell you how it perfoms. In reality, I'm guessing you won't like it as much as a brand like Clinique. BUT, if finding a line of products that's completely free of harmful chemicals, then Ava is a good place to start.

Check out Neal's Yard Remedies. It is a skin care line made here in the UK and is available online in the US. They just came out with a new makeup line which I haven't tried yet but I use many of the other products. All of their stuff is free of parabens, artificial fragrances, silicons and EDTA and are all 70-80% organic. I love it. They even have a great baby care line! Let me know if you try it.
