I second Dr. Bain (we go there) and we also have been and have gone to see Dr. Cahan (Coppell) - both will honor your wishes completely!!!
hey mamas, i didn't do an exhaustive search, so please forgive if this has been asked before.
i'm looking for a pedi who will support my family's decisions for non-/delayed-vaxing, extended breastfeeding, and vegetarian kiddos. we live in irving, and i'd prefer not to drive into dallas proper just b/cs i HATE the traffic, but otherwise am willing to travel a bit for a great doctor. i've heard very very mixed things about dr. bain in plano, so if you have strong opinions on her, you could share those, too.
thanks in advance!

I second Dr. Bain (I have been there but too far for me) and we also have been and have gone to see Dr. Cahan (Coppell) - both will honor your wishes completely!!!

I go to McKinney for Dr. Chartrand...He is amazing...His kids are also being raised Vegan...He does not take insurance, however, if you have an insurance that pays 80%, as ours does, it's actually cheaper for us to go to him than another doctor. We went to Cahan about a year ago and she charged us almost 200USD for a visit...he charges only 65USD for a visit...so paying out of network for his rate is cheaper than in-network with others...
His old office was in the same building as a birthing center, so although he is a great physician, he is very much into natural type parenting...His office is a big house where you can go in with your kids, husband and all and be in the room while he sees you...

He is worth the drive...never a wait at his office, never tons of other sick kids, nothing...he schedules his time very well and does not go from one room to the other while you wait for someone to come see you...he has one room and he only sees you and then takes his next patient...he does his own blood tests there, etc...he actually does them...
