I am wondering if anyone has a trick to removing nail polish from clothing. My daughter got red polish all over a dress made of a cotton/polyester/rayon mix. We tried using nail polish remover with no luck! Any ideas would be great!

What can I do next?

I had this happen once, and I remember also that nail polish remover DID NOT WORK. In fact, it just makes it worse. I looked around online and found somewhere that recommended WD-40. Believe it or not, with Wd-40, LOTS of scrubbing with one of those green scrubber pads, and a hot wash, I was able to get it out!

Good luck. It really takes a lot of elbow grease still!

My daughter spilled bright orange nail polish on my mom's new beige carpet a few years ago. I was horrified. We called the company that installed the central wet vac in my mom's house and she brought us some ALL SOLV by Bridgepoint Systems. It is amazing stuff! I've since used it for nail polish on clothing, toll paint in carpet, and a few other things. It certainly did the trick. I think it's about $10 - $20 dollars for a 16 oz. arisol can. It's so worth it, though. Also, be sure to wash the clothes immediately after, as it is a heavy duty cleaner. Good luck!

I know how bad that can be. My son spilled maroon nail polish on our white carpet and I used denatured alcohol. It is found with the paint thinners in stores and in fairly cheap. It does take some time, use a cotton ball and get a little on it(about the same as you would nail polish remover)and dab at the stain. As soon as the cotton ball has any color on it get a new cotton ball and do the same thing. It can take a lot of cotton balls but the end result is amazing. This also works on ink and marker (I have very light furniture). Hope this helps.

Maybe hair spray and polish remover together? It seems like we experienced this as well and it might lighten it a little, I am not sure if it came all the way out! Try the two together and scrub it with a tooth brush and let it sit for a little while. Good luck!
