Hi - i am looking into NAET treatments thru a Natuopathic DR for my son who is allergic to peanut and dogs and has chemical sensitivities....they say you have to go thru a "Basic" treatment plan first (which includes about 10 treatments before they get to the ones I listed) - i was wondering if anyone has had any experience with this and what they think....Thanks in advance for the input

What can I do next?

I love it! I am going to a Chiropath here in Columbia, Dr. Teresa Jenkins, and it has been life changing...I was having all sorts of hormonal and anxiety issues, but found out that I was allergic to B vitamins...which for stress, my thyroid, adrenal, etc. need desperately to work properly. She cleared the B vitamin allergy and I started on some natural supplements to help my body heal from the stress it's been under and I have felt great results...I also have a mineral allergy I will be getting cleared this week...Some of my remaining symptoms can well be attributed to a deficiency in minerals, so I am hopeful this will help. I am doing so much better! Best to you. I hope you give them a try...it is so much better than being on meds for the rest of your life!

Hi N.,
Most people are not familiar with NAET, so please do not let their negative remarks sway you. Have you been to www.naet.com ? here's a link that you may find informative
http://www.naet.com/subscribers/instructions.html

I had a good experience with a NAET practitioner and would still be getting the treatments for my young daughter if we had not run out of money! I believe that this can be a n excellent, very effective way to rid the body of allergic reactions. Our bodies are made up of energy, some call it CHI or LIFE FORCE, etc. Naet works in a way to balance this energy. (as does traditional Chinese medicine~acupuncture, etc) If you do some looking around on Dr. Devi's site mentioned above, you can be prepared to ask your practitioner these important questions and be sure that he or she was actually trained by Dr. Devi. This is a process, so yes, it can be a little frustrating at first, but hang in there and wait and see what kind of results you get!

All the best,
C.

I haven't had experience with such a treatment but had allergies myself and had those shots it worked I'm not longer allergic to cats and some grasses and molds...however as I've aged I'm allergic to Pine Trees (like ga has only a few of those) and a few other things. However I don't think I would risk my child at introducing small amts of things they are allergic to like peanut butter since it can actually be deadly for some children. I would just keep researching what your are thinking about doing and other options.

I am not too familiar with NAET treatments but I don't recommend it. My brother and I were born with chronic asthma and we have allergies... We were allergic to dogs cats, grass shoo about everything that is outside.
My brother had a weird allergy. He was allergic to grapes and loved grapes. My grandmother gradually in small portions gave my brother grapes and now he is not allergic to it..
The same thing they did for our allergies.. we gradually were introduce to things and then we were not allergic anymore...
If this is what you want to try that is your choice but I recommend just gradually introduce your child to the things he is allergic to (small portions). He will gradually stop being allergic to it

While I am not familiar with this specific treatment I do firmly beleve that many of the alternative treatments are much better than traditional medicine as they cure rather than treat symptoms. I have always used a preventative apporach and got as many toxic cleaners and prossesed food out of the house that I could and we use whole food supplements. We seemed to have headed off the food allergys by not introducing anything besides breatsmilk before a year or as close as we could get to it. I don't know what else you do in your home besides going to a naturopath but I would be happy to chat about things if you like. I would strongly advise probiotics too for the allergy issues you mentioned!! We are raising 11 children and have used antibiotics less than 10 times in 22 years as well as seemingly no allergies and goth the hubby and I had issues with this as children!!!

I have several friends that swear by the NAET treatments.
One family in particuliar has a child with severe asthma that seems to have eased a great deal since the treatment.
A lot of the families I know have done NAET along with the blood type diet. As a third party observer, I have seen changes with them.
