My Three-year-old Thinks She Is Pregnant...

Has this happened to anyone else before?! I find it hilarious.

I am pregnant and due with my second child in early June. Well, my 3 year old daughter thinks that she is pregnant right along with me. According to her, she is carrying the boy baby and I am carrying the girl baby. She has "cravings" or can feel the baby moving. The baby even talks to her sometimes. It is hilarious to me and I wondered if anyone else has similar stories with older siblings mimicking their pregnancy and symptoms.

I try to treat this similar to how I read that you should treat imaginary friends. It is comical to me and very sweet to see her notice my changes, so I am not asking for any advice. I really just wanted to laugh at other people's stories about how their children handled their pregnancies.

What can I do next?

Well that's better than:

My neighbors 4 year old daughter is telling everyone at her school that " mommy has a baby in her belly"... She doesn't, she just gained about 10 lbs and is mortified that her daughter is going around telling everyone it's a baby... So now all the staff is saying congratulations.... lol...

Cute!

Be happy that it's not your 16 year old that thinks she's pregnant!

I remember getting my doll to nurse, when my mom had my sister. This was 1983 and apparently it was totally cool back then for a nursing mother to have a glass of wine to relax while nursing... I remember my mom giving me a wineglass with water in it And I felt like I was totally legit!

My mom said that when she had my brother she would nurse him on the couch and I would run and get my "pew bear" and nurse him next to her.
Imitation is the greatest form of flattery.

I am also pregnant. Since I am the worst pregnant person ever, my daughters aren't too tempted to pretend to be in the condition I am in. However my two year old will nurses just about anything with a face on it!

All my kids (sons and a daughter) were "pregnant" with me at one time or another, they all nursed various stuffed animals and dolls too. I will never forget how crushed my son was when he found out that he would never actually get to be pregnant. Truly crushed, he cried and cried about it, he was going on 5 at the time. After that baby was born and I was nursing, he came to the devastating realization that he would never get to nurse a baby either. He was again quite upset, but took it a little better than the pregnancy part.
Congrats on the pregnancy, I wish you the best.

So sweet..thanks for sharing. Yes..I remember my daughter acting like she was pregnant when I was preggers with our third.

I remember nursing this same daughter when she was born and my older son brought me a cup because he wanted some too. Uhhhh...I just couldn't bring myself to do it. I already felt like a dairy cow.

Good luck and best wishes with your next little bundle of joy! She will be a great big sis!!

I recall "breastfeeding" my baby dolls when I was much younger. My own daughter (6yo) would tuck a blanket under her shirt every now and then and be "pregnant" right along with me.
