He may be waiting to long before he goes into the bathroom. I would have daddy have a talk with him, and if he continues, use some form of discipline. J.

Is he standing up? Sometimes, as boys try to figure out how to stand up and do their business, they have a hard time. One lady kept getting mad that her son was pooping on the floor until she realized that he was trying to copy what he'd seen his daddy do by standing to go potty not realizing it didn't work for poop too.
Another possibility is that he's enjoying the discovery that he can make pee go where he aims. Anyway, good luck!

Does he normally just repeat what you've said?
Ask him at a time when he's away from the bathroom and he's not focusing on it or getting trouble for it.

It may be just as simple as some thought he's gotten into his head.
Example: I couldn't figure out where the pee smell was coming from, I scrubbed the bathroom, washed the bathmat, deodorizers everything. Finally my son confessed he had been peeing in the trash can, sink, tub, anywhere but the toilet (and missed, a lot) because he wanted to see how it would work.
I couldn't believe that my three week ordeal was as simple as that.

Good luck

I think the last poster is on to something. That's exactly what my DAUGHTER was doing until we figured it out, but she was only peeing on the floor, right in front of the toilet. We chatted with her and all was well.

Usually this is a sign of wanting attention. Do you have another child coming? Have you recently moved? Stress of change or wanting attention is usually the reason for this behavior. Ask him if something is bothering him and ask if he would like to clean it up? Usually if they have to help clean it up, they dont want to do it anymore. The peeing the bed if never did it before could be a sign of being afraid of the dark and not wanting to get up. Less to drink at night and potty before bed. Good luck!

Yes I agree with Dawn, there is something going on and may be emotional. It sounds like a control thing so take a look at the stress and you will have to figure out why, new baby is usually a cause of regression. There are other things though like arguing. He can't control you so this is the only way he can control something. Reward him if he potty's in the toilet without "missing". It is purposeful.
