Hey moms, i usually read but today i am writing.
My son is turning 3 on Jan 10th. I don't know what to do for his b-day. I always do Chuck E Cheese... It doesn't seem to be a big hit anymore.
I need suggestions. Some one told me to get a bounce house. But Jan is kinda cold for a bounce house.
I have gotten some really cool ideas so far. Seems like all the good stuff is in Plano. I'm in Arlington/Grand Prairie though so it's a bit far. Maybe something closer.
What about one of those places that has bounce houses indoors? I went yesterday with my 4 year old and my 1 year old and we had a ball! I think I had more fun than they did!
The Little Gym: you invite friends and a fun teenager runs the kids around for an hour or so and you eat cake and go home.
ASI Gymnastics (or similar facility): great for boys and girls, same concept and all ages love it.
YMCA: If you have one near you that has a pool you could actually have a winter swim party.
Pump It Up is the indoor bouncehouse thing, but you can also just rent a bounce house to have at your house.
There are several great indoor places in Arlington for parties. Pump it Up is on Eden Road, South Cooper area of Arlington. It is an indoor inflatable place. If you book a party there, the playroom and party room are private to your party. You don't have to worry about older kids or kids you do not know.
ASI gymnastics also does great parties. The instructors lead the kids through all kinds of fun, age appropriate activities. This is also a private party atmosphere. They have a party area upstairs. There is an ASI on South Cooper in Arlington.
Try www.candisno.com they can come to your house with a snow man party with sno balls to make real personal size snoman and its so cute and fun! the kids love it (all ages)! I am doing this for my son who is turning 6 this Jan...

a local gymnastic studio is great b/c the kids can jump on the trampoline, swing into the foam pit etc... check and see what each gym offers. most usually handle all the entertainment and clean up. also if your little guy is into bugs or dino's etc... check out the museum for a totally boy party. the dallas musuem of science at fair park has lots of programs.
The Little Gym does fun parties for that age...and so does The Jumping Party, which is a location that is filled with INDOOR bounce houses and inflatable slides. They are both super fun and super easy...They provide pretty much everything except the cake!
The Little Gym is perfect for a 3 year old's party.
We had a 3rd birthday party at the fire station. Just call the fire station to set up a time to tour and the kids get to see the whole place and crawl in the fire trucks and ambulance. Give out fire-fighter hats as party favors then go back to your house for cake and ice cream, or if you are really lucky the fire station has a meeting room that they will let you use and you can have a quick party there. And best of all the kids get a lesson on fire safety and what fire fighters look like in all their gear, and the tour is usually free.

You might check around where you are and see if you have something similar. It's AWESOME. We're actually doing Chuck E this birthday - it will be the first one there, and the third time that both of my little ones have gone.

What about Planet Pizza? I am not sure if it is still open. My daughter is 1lmost 14 now but we went to Planet Pizza on a weekly basis and she had bday party 4 there.
They have an indoor climbing area, indoor small amusement type rides and games.

We like the idea of throwing parties at home instead of going to the pizza and game type places -- especially while our kids are young! We just had a Frosty The Snowman theme party last weekend for my daughter's 4th birthday. It was a hit! We gave Frosty themed party favors (coupons for a free Frosty from Wendy's, snowman coloring books, and a flannel throw blanket I cut into strips so each kid had a "scarf" like Frosty to take home). The kids don't need much to be entertained at this age. They colored, played with my kids toys, and we had a bean bag toss game. Good luck!

there is a lady in Grand Prairie that does shaved ice parties where the kids can make snowmen...it seems pretty reasonably priced and something different. I actually wanted to do this for my daughter's party this year, but we live too far away and would have to pay quite a bit to get her to come to our area. So we went with Simply Pretend dress-up trunk rental instead. At 3, we had an art party with facepainting, various arts/crafts, and that worked well.
