My New Thanksgiving/Christmas Tradition Input

I love the idea of family traditions and I have thought of one that I would like to implement this year. I would like to share it and get some feedback. I usually host thanksgiving and I thought that I would like each of the guests to write on a 1/2" by 6" piece of paper what they are thankful for at this time (names and dates on the back side). Then I want to laminate them and put them together like a chain for the christmas tree. I figure we could add to the chain each year and have something nice to look back on. Do you think this will work? Am I overlooking something? Is it too corny? Let me know what you think. Thanks.

Great idea. We have been doing something similiar every year since I was around 13. My mom is the keeper of the book with all those things we are thankful for in it. Each year we break out the book, write down the new year, each person's name and what they are thankful to God for, the we pick a prior year of not less than 10 years ago and read what they were grateful for way back then. I was so silly during my teen years. I think when I was 16 I was thankful for "IT". I have no idea now what the heck I was talking about but it is a great exercise for a good life to count our blessings.

I like it! and if you are a scrapbooker you can turn it into a thanksgiving scrapbook and include the individual picture and gratitude underneath and add to it every year, I know that would be time consuming.

I like it. I would also designate someone to read them out loud as part of the festivities. (You can skip saying the names out loud for this part, if you want to.) I do something similar for baby/wedding showers, only with advice and well-wishes. I'll bet it would do nicely for Thanksgiving, too! Good idea!

We have always said what we are each thankful for at Thanksgiving after grace. I love your idea. Have each person read their card and then put together the chain.

Sounds wonderful.
