My Kids Love Naruto

Anyone familiar with the cartoon network program Naruto? Sometimes it is pretty graphic, with fighting and killing. The main character is always the good guy with strong convictions. Should I let them watch this stuff? My youngest is 9 and he really loves it, and my 2 daughters are older, 11 and 12 and they like it too. I think they are drawn to the level of intensity and passion in the stories. Not sure if it's a good thing for them to watch.

What can I do next?

People wonder why our kids have anger management issues and are combative? It's shows like this that lead them to believe that violence is acceptable. Do your kids a favor and turn off the TV. Sorry to be such a downer, but those type of shows really grind my gears..!

I had never heard of this show, so googled it! The images were enough for me to put in a vote of "NO"--it wouldn't be allowed here. We stay clear of demonic looking beings that are not normal. Killings, stealing and other immoral behaviors are NOT okay for the common good. Thus the brain becomes confused as the right and wrong lines become blurred. There are a few good shows that instill good things in this world full of violence and bad behaviors. A home is where peace and safety should be.

That's my opinion!

I've watched Naruto a few times and my 15 yr old watches it... not sure if it is ok for younger. The passion you talk about is asian culture influence. Before you "ban" it, sit down with them and watch a few episodes, see what they get out of it. Then when you talk to them and tell them they need to wait till they are older to see it (if that's your choice), they know you really checked it out before deciding.

From what I have seen and know of the show, there is always a healthy, good lesson included, and it encourages working together/team work. It's a little on the odd side, but i dont thinks its damaging in any way for your children.

Kathy V you and I are cut from the same cloth...this is the second time I have agreed with you today. NO WAY!!! Does it have a rating? Nothing drives me more crazy to see a 9yo at a PG13 movie!!! I do not even let my kids watch, LILO and STITCH, too violent for a young child's cartoon. What ever happened to Dick and Jane, Mr. Roger's Neighborhood, Sesame Street????
