My Husband's Question

First of all do not over react!! This is normal for little kids to do this. My daughter has done the same thing and does not do it anymore. When he sticks is finger there, just move his finger out of the way. He is starting to notice different things about his body. You and your husband probably did this too as little ones. I have 4 children ages 21-3 and they have all done something strange like this. Don't worry, there is nothing wrong with him!

Ditto to what Melanie K said...totally normal curiosity. Just like when they discover their "man parts" for the first time. Just don't make a big deal out of it and distract like she said...my little one plays with a tape measure this week during his diaper changes and he's totally enthralled...lol.

First off, it's not weird. It IS a new hole. That being said, don't fuss over it. I'd see if he'd take an interesting toy in his hands while you change him, without letting on why. And keep the babywipes on hand to wipe his fingers immediately, just in case, then wash his hands when all done. Good luck!

I agree with the other two posts, it is totally normal and he will eventually stop, it is just a new discovery. My guy loves a good book when we are changing his diaper.

I agree with you. I"m sure he's just discovered there's something under that diaper. My daughter has started doing that with her front side but it's strictly an exploration on her part. I would definately make sure to wash his hands right after but I wouldn't worry either. Good luck.
