hi, i am currently 7 weeks pregnant with my second child. i have a 20 month old son and i had a misscariage in nov, where i was 6 weeks along. i used fertility drugs with my first and nothing with this pregnancy. my levels are not doubling as they are suppossed to and i am so concerned that i will misscarry again. my doctor says that my numbers still suggest a viable pregnancy, however, my numbers are sluggish. i know that i will not be out of the clear until at least 12 weeks gestational, but i still wonder if there is something i can do. is there foods i should eat, or foods that i should not eat. should i exercise without limitations or take it easy? my mother worries that if i vaccumn, i will do damage to myself and the baby. any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. thanks

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

i am now 8 weeks and my ultrasound done this morning showed that the pregnancy is "progressing", my hcg hormone is still sluggish, but the dr. says that it is still "viable". i also asked about progesterone suplements and i am now taking them every night. they make me extremely tired, like being on benedryl all the time...but if it is helping, then i'll take it. i will also look into the creams this weekend. thank you for the great advice. It is so comforting to know there are women out there that can answer questions, give great opinions, and offer sincere support. i'll continue to update!! ****unfortunitly at 9 weeks I misscarried. it has been so dificult to accept because on thurs., my ultrasound showed a healthy heartbeat at 150 beats a min., and then on Fri., I started to msscarry.

Must have been the year I guess...I got pregnant last Halloween...thought I was miscarrying...turned out to be ectopic, ugh, had to get that methotrexate shot...my tube still ruptured in December...At that time my son was 11 months old...it was a nightmare cause I was still nursing him at the time...Bottom line...what's meant to be is meant to be - no matter who you are what you do how much money you have, you can't escape this....what's in your cards is already in your cards...you are already a wonderful mother and a wonderful person....all you can do is hope for the best, but be prepared for the worst...Know that God has a plan for you and your family and he always has your best interest at heart...Take Care and I wish you all the luck in the world with your family.

I wish you the best!

As a childbirth instructor, I teach my students to eat a healthy, well rounded diet. There are some herbs that can cause miscarriage, but you'd have to eat pretty large volumes of them. Don't snack on a bag of black licorice, and you should be good.

Some folks think that progesterone supplements can aid in maintaining a pregnancy. Oral progesterone you only absorb 10% of the dose, where as with creams that you apply to the skin you absorb a much greater amount. You might want to consider looking at a health food store or checking with an Arbonne rep to get some cream (if you use Arbonne, use the "Prolief," NOT the "Phyto-Prolief").

Keep listening to your gut instincts on this issue--we really do know our bodies better than our Dr's give us credit sometimes.

Hugs!

I agree with Jennifer...
I am an Arbonne Consultant, and there are a lot of women who SWEAR by Arbonne's balancing creams! The one you would want is called "phytoprolief". Let me know if you would be interested in it, I'd give you the 35% dicount and have it shipped to you asap!
Good luck with everything!!!

the only thing you can do is just relax. take it easy, don't do any exercizing or heavy chores around the house. other than that, it's all up to your body and the embryo. there aren't any magic potions that will help. i know what you're going through. i went through it in august and it was aweful. good luck and let us know what happens.

A friend of mine had that problem and the doctor put her on progesterone until 12-14 weeks with each pregnancy. Maybe you could ask your doctor about that?

hi, by hormone levels, did you mean hcg? mine was low and i had done ivf, so i used progesterone shots for 16 weeks--ask your dr. for advice--my ob/gyn didn't know enough, so maybe you should go see your ivf dr--good luck, R.
