My daughter is just about 6 months and our daycare provider noticed that she was having no interest in the bottle so she went to a faster flowing nipple. Now she eats 6oz in no time. She is also on solids with her bottles acting as snacks. I recommend trying a faster flowing nipple first and if that doesn't work then call your pediatrican.

I would call the doctor. It may be an ear infection due to his teething. Is he running a fever or anything that is not norm to him? They may just suggest trying some tylenol or orajel. I think your best bet is your doc. Hope all goes well!

Does he eat well sometimes? If so, I wonder if he's actually tired and just wanting to suck to sooth himself while falling asleep. When my first son was an infant I thought he had a voracious appetite but then realized he didn't eat much sometimes. He wasn't sucking because he needed to eat, he was sucking to help himself fall asleep.

Is he having regular bowel movements. Sometimes if they are not having regular bowel movements, there stomache starts to hurt and cry even when eating. Does he act like he's hungry or not interested? If he acts like he's hungry and upset you may need to go to a faster flowing nipple. If he doesn't seem interested and he's not eating solids I would take him to the Doctor. Let me know how it goes. If he's teething then it probably hurts for him to eat. Use ambasol or something like that right before he's supposed to eat. Also you could try numbing his gums with ice before he eats and that may help him.

Are you sure he doesn't have an ear infection. If he's having trouble sleeping also, that could be the problem. I'd check with the doc soon, if it keeps up. Good Luck!!!

My son is now almost 9 months, but he went through these phases as well. He has gone through several growing spurts where he is especially hungry and then back to normal feeding, but I always notice a decrease in his appetite when he is teething. Does he eat solid foods now? Sometimes I wouldn't push the solids and just let him have his formula bottle. Also if you are getting concerned that he isn't getting enough nutrients through the day you should try pedialyte. It is a miracle when they are teething (or when they have diarhhea) because you can put it in the fridge so it is cold on their teeth and kind of numbs the pain a little bit. Also the sweetness of it might be enough of a change to get him to drink some of it. The pedialyte has the same amount, if not more, of nutrients as a bottle and is often a good alternative for times like this. If none of this works you could also just call a nurse at your doctor's office and explain the situation - I've found that they are usually the ones who know the best tricks for this kind of stuff since they see SO MANY kids.

Yes, I would call you doctor, at 6 months it could be many things but I am sure nothing serious but call you doctor just to be safe.
