Good morning.
My first thought it thyroid. If his thyroid is off, he can loose hair. Have the doctor do a DETAILED workup on it, beyond the normal blood test. Tell him you want a full workup.
Good luck!
My son just turned 5 years old and he has a few spots on his head where it looks like his hair is thinning, or balding.
Has anyone ever heard of what this can be from ? before i get myself all worked up, he does have a dr. appointment in about a week or so but was curious before i go there.
Thank You

I don't know about kids, but a few years ago I had the same thing happen to me. My doctor did some blood tests and it ended up being a vitamin deficiency. I can't remember which vitamin right now, but I know that I ate whatever foods had that vitamin and took vitamin pills and it got better. Hope your little guy is ok.
It could either be thinning from his head growing bigger, giving it the appearance of him loosing hair when he isn't... or it could be stress causing it.
My son had a bald spot a few years ago that turned out to be ringworm. It was treated with ointments and a pill. The hair started to grow back soon after we began the treatments.
