My 18 Month Old Poops Too Much. or Is It?

Ugh, I was so happy that my son started using the potty at two for EXACTLY that reason. Apparently it means they're good and healthy, but it sure does make that particular part of being a mom pretty crumby.

But yeah, I think it's normal. My son pooped pretty much every time he ate until he was 4. Now it's more like just twice a day, and of course it goes in the potty so the only gross part is if he needs help wiping.

You should feel proud of having such a healthy kid :-)

my 19 month old daughter usually poops twice a day! I just assume shes getting all the right nutrients and her system is really healthy!!

My 19 month old poops 3-4 times a day also, his doctor just said he has a very healthy digestive tract and must get plenty of fiber. It's such a pain though, isn't it?

I think it was Dr oz who said you're supposed to poop every time you eat.

It may be what he's eating. My son is the same age and eats more than most kids his age so he has plenty of poopy diapers in a day. he's also bigger than most kids his age.
