Hi T.
Did the injection work and the benadryl and malox work on the ulcers?
Did the doctor advise you what causes ulcers and how to prevent them?
He says it hurts and they look like they are bleesing. What could it be and should I take him to the doctor?
It was ulcers the doctor injected it with medicine. He told us to swish with benedryl and malox mixed and for him to drink lots of water.

Sounds like hand foot and mouth virus that you catch from basically other kids and school. The sores are in the mouth the palms of the hands and the bottoms of the feet- high friction areas. They look like blisters and then they pop and become raw. Go to the dr- just to be sure. You can use a combo of maalox and benadryl 50/50 as a swish and swirl for the mouth which will help to relieve some of the discomfort in the mouth- but check with your dr first to be sure since I dont know your childs medical history. Just dont swallow it swish and spit. Call your dr's nurse give them the symptoms and then see if they want you to come in or not.
Good luck
My husband is an ENT, and I asked him about your situation. He said in addition to Strep and other suggestioons on the post, it could be apthous ulcers. They are basically canker sores and can bea caused by lots of things. He recommended seeing your Peditrician or an ENT.
Maybe he should get swabbed for strep throat at the Dr.'s office. Strep is usually indicated by pockets of puss which you might be interpreting as sores. Really bad strep can be excruciating to swallow and it won't go away without antibiotics. Definitely call the dr. today.
It's either strep throat OR hand, foot & mouth disease. (Sounds worse than it is....not sure why they call it "disease")
My daughter seems to get it at the beginning of every school year and it has to pass on it's own.
Unfortunately there's no antibiotics to make it go away like there is for strep.
If he's not running fever and doesn't have an upset stomach, it's most likely just hand, foot & mouth.
If he's got fever and upset stomach, that's strep.
Regardless, the sores and throat will be painful whether it's strep or hand, foot & mouth until it passes.
We were able to give my daughter motrin or tylenol for the pain but I'm not sure how much that really helps. She could barely eat or drink anything!
And yes, both are very contagious so keep your other kiddos seperated as much as possible!
Good luck and hope he feels better soon.
Yes take him to the doctor.
I would strongly suggest you take him to a doctor. I had somewhat of the same problem all my life. Five yrs ago it happened again and I left it alone thinking they would get better on their own, it always had before, but they didn't. They got worse and ended up creating a cyst in the back of my mouth. I woke up one morning having trouble breathing cause it was partially blocking my air passage and had to be rushed to the ER where they lanced it. Take care of it now. If he continues to have problems with his throat, the doctor may need to remove his tonsils. That's what my problem was.
Anytime there are sores in your childs mouth, you should take him to the doctor. It could be anything from strep, to herpangina, which is viral, but quite painful, so yes, call your coctor, and take him in, if nothing else to make sure he is not contaigious.
