Hi,
Just wondering about some of your stories. How long after you lost your mucous plug or had a bloody show did your babies come? I lost mine and am trying to gather whether I am on a normal time frame because things seem to be moving rather slow. Thanks in advance.

What can I do next?

So exciting- you're about to be a mama! :) It could be 2 hours or 2 weeks. Doesn't that suck???

But it'll happen. Try to rest (yeah right), and I hope you have the birth you're dreaming of!

(BTW- mucus plug will be different than your bloody show. My plug was just a bit of bleeding and mucus. When I really got going on my bloody show, I was already 4 cm dilated and in the middle of intense labor. So you'll see a big difference there!)

Hi M.,

Congratulations.

For my second child, it was just over 2 hours. However, I remember calling my doctor arround 6pm, and her telling me to do my best to relax, get as much sleep as possible, and call her in the morning.

Good luck.

Hi - congrats on being so close to that second! I lost my mucous plug very slowly over a period of a week or more. My dgtr was born 2-3 weeks later! Sorry for any disappointment - but it may take awhile. It's not always an indicator that labor is imminent!

Good luck with the boys!!

I didn't have a bloody show with my son (he was a scheduled section) but I went natural with my daughter and I went into labor and hour and a half after I lost my mucous plug. I move rather quickly though. I was 3 cm when I got to the Hosp. at 730am and was 10 cm at noon. Good luck!

I never lost mine but I learned in my birthing class that it could take a couple of weeks after losing it. Good luck and congrats!! How exciting your baby is almost here!

Hey M.,

How exciting, Congratulations!!! When I had my bloody show I went into labor within a few hours. However I have known women who have gone for up to a week afterward. I know after being pregnant this long that's not what you want to hear but just try to relax and when he's ready to come he will. Good luck and Happy New Year!!
