Hi Mamas,

I have received quotes from both companies - Broadway Express is much lower than ABF. But they are claiming to offer the same service. Has anyone used either of these companies? Good experiences? Bad experiences?
Any insight you can offer is appreciated!

Thanks!

Hi,
I used ABF from Las Vegas Nv to Georgia then Georgia to Las Vegas.
Great company Had absolutely no trouble in both directions. I highly recommend them!

I have used ABF twice and I was very pleased both times. I have never heard of Broadway Express.

I think you could ask Broadway Express to provide you with references? Or at least contact the better business bureau to see if they have had any complaints lodged against them.

I would also bet that ABF could tell you why Broadway Express' rates would be lower.
For example - the last time I moved I used U Haul (and only because I needed to pack drive and unload all within 24 hours - yuck!!!). When I checked a competitor's site the quote I got was several hundred dollars less than UHaul, so I asked the U Haul rep why. The UHaul rep said if I went back and looked closely I would notice that the other company's quote wasn't even for enough miles to cover the entire trip and that when I completed the transaction I would notice that the "mandatory" insurance was higher. Sure enough when I calculated everything it would have actually cost me about $100 more to use the other company - even though the initial online quote was $200 LESS.

Also, as a general rule in business most companies try to price "competitively" rather than "significantly lower". So, if their price is that much lower there is a reason and I would be VERY careful. Ask them to verify verify verify that you aren't going to be charged for gas, tolls, surcharges etc that aren't included in the quote. Also compare what you get for insurance etc. Also make sure that Broadway express will guarantee delivery time. From what I remember ABF could tell me within a couple hours when the driver would deliver the trailer.

Good Luck with the move!
