All that and more, minds in motion and both malls have little play areas for little people. My son has been going to these places since he was about three. Also, northwest gymnastics academy and bounce have open gymnastics times. The dollar theater always has kids movies as well. the library and the major bookstore chains have kids reading time often with a special guest. feeding the ducks along the river bike path or at alton baker is always fun, if you can find a bakery outlet they usually have cheap duck bread. there are hundreds of trails to hike your local outdoor retailer probably has a book or suggestions. my son is six and loves to go to all of these places. good luck.

How old is your son? Eugene is full of parks and bike paths, if you like to go for walks or hikes or bike rides. My son loves to climb up Skinner's Butte. When he is older, we will hike the Ridgeline Trail, Spencer's Butte, Mt. Pisgah. He likes the arboretum part of Mt. Pisgah.

There is also a farm just as you enter Springfield that is fun to explore (Can't think of the name of it right now.).

If he is a little older, he might like the Science Factory or some of the local museums. We like to go for walks and look at leaves or architecture. If you just go outside, Eugene is full of things to do. Use your imagination! Alton Baker Park is fun to explore, and it's fun to feed the ducks and geese.

C.,
I live in Eugene, OR also, and though my kids are older now, a few things we enjoyed when they were around 10 years old was putt putt golf (Putters on Hwy. 99. They also have pizza and a video arcade) cosmic bowling, Crux gym rock wall climbing, going to a movie, Coldstone Ice Cream, paintball, or playing frizbee or catch at a park (weather permitting). I was trying to think of fun things you could enjoy this time of year that are indoors. Hope some of these suggestions help and have a wonderful day with your son!

Wonderland - I want to say that it is still open at the 5th Street Market. Also at the Gateway mall there is that cosmic Miniture Golf. Or take a little drive to Florence - walk on the beach - it's only 45mins away. Pack a lunch for a picinic. Ask him what he would like to do too. Good luck.
