Mother's Network in Las Colinas/Irving

I moved to Las Colinas/Irving a year ago and now have a 10 month old baby. I was curious as to whether there are any organized mother's groups or mother's networks in this area? I was talking with an older woman in my neighborhood today who said that mother's networks in neighborhoods used to be a really big thing - maybe they still are and I just don't know about it!

What can I do next?

Hi! I live in Valley Ranch...a part of Irving just north of you.
I am a member and on the Board of the Las Colinas/Coppell/Valley Ranch Early Childhood PTA. It is actually a part of the national PTA system, but for preschooler down to infants. Here is our website http://www.myschoolonline.com/site/0,1876,47676-168805-51...
Feel free to check it out. Our next monthly meeting is at Everybody Fits in Coppell on Monday November 14th. We are also having our Fall Festival at Everybody Fits this evening from 6:30 to 8pm. It's a carnival type thing set up for toddlers/preschoolers. I'm actually in charge of this event so if you stop by ask for me, V. Kelly.

I live in Grand Prairie (very near 183/Beltline Rd) and would be interested in forming a mother's group for playdates and outings and such. I've tried joining some online groups, but most of them met too far from my home or charge a fee for joining.

Let me know if you'd like to meet sometime!

Sounds like the best place would be to get involved with a local church. I would also highly recommend finding a MOPS group. The women you meet there generally become an invaluable network of support and usually live near each other. I work in Las Colinas but do not have a group around here to specifically guide you to, but good luck! And keep looking for a group that fits for you, it takes a little trial and error.
