I always order the SSS line from Avon. My favorite one is SPF 30 and bug repellent in one and it really works.
Can anybody out there recommend a deet free mosquito repellent that actually works? My little one is being eaten alive every time he steps outside. Thanks!

Hi J.,
I recently tried an organic remedy and it seems to work..plus I don't have to worry about a pesticide on whole family and it smells good too.
2tbs water
1tbs pure vanilla extract(not the imitation stuff)
rub all over with cotton ball
also if your just sitting around outside..try burning some incense. Supposidly the smoke is a deterrent for mosiquitos.
Goodluck(I think we are going to need a lot of this with all the rain we've recently had)

Avon has a good line of mosquito repellants. We also have sunscreen with bug repellant in it. If interested I have some on hand.

Skin so Soft from Avon is awesome, plus your mosturizing the skin at the same time. Also, Bounce dryer sheet will keep the bugs away.
try rubbing a dryer sheet on him as well as tucking it in the back of his pants. I don't know but I have heard it works well.
Hi J.,
Arbonne makes a body lotion with natural citrus oils that naturally repels bugs. I can honestly say I haven't been bit by a mosquito in over 3 years, and I live by the lake! Plus it is a safe alternative, unlike other bug sprays. Also, the suggestion for the dryer sheet is not safe either. Dryer sheets contain many chemicals, including hormones.
If you'd like more information please let me know, I am a Regional VP with ARbonne.
Thanks!
J.

and you can also try rubbing garlic oil on his feet before going out. the oil will absorb into his bloodstream (only his feet will smell like garlic). mosquitos don't like garlic. haven't tried this yet personally but it makes sense to me and i'm going to get some garlic oil today since my son is very allergic to the bites. good luck!
Are you familiar with Melaleuca? Their product Sol-U-Mel works wonders, and it is non-toxic and kid friendly
We use Off Skintastic or the Avon sunblock with bug repellent in it.
If you go on this website http://www.bugbutton.com/test/mosquito_repelling_research...
They have pins you can attach to your kids clothes, so you don't have to spray them. These work really well, and last for hours.
My middle daughter has a bad problem with mosquitos and every repellant we tried broke her out in huge itchy hives. We tried tons of other methods from the vanilla, bounce dryer sheets, the little beeper thing and many many more and none of them worked either. We were at a friends house one day and before I could stop her, she had put off skintastic on my girls and it didnt break Kim out. I had never tried it before because she is also allergic to avon Skin So Soft, but the off didnt affect her at all. Our whole family has been using it every since. Good luck with your search for the right product!
Ditto!! My son and I get them as well...I have found a couple of products in the grocery store that are organic and believe it or not, they have worked. I didn't want to put a DEET product on him (or me really) and one of these had a nice lemon smell...I wish I could give you the brands...I am going to have to look on the shelf for them as well..you would think I would know it by heart but I think having an almost two and half year old boy has scrambled my brain! Hope this helps!

Skin-So-Soft from Avon. That is what my Pedi recommended. I use the sunscreen that has repellent in it also and the bug spray. It is what was also recommended when I was pregnant to use on myself.
Skin so Soft by Avon it smells great too.
