I just found out I am pregnant with my second, about 2 weeks ago. I'm about 8 weeks along but I go for an ultrasound later this week to see for sure.

Yesterday around lunch time I started not feeling well, and I didnt eat much lunch. by the afternoon I was miserable, and I was running to the bathroom every 20 min to an hour or so, but I wasnt throwing up... it was from the other end. I didnt eat anything for dinner. and all threw out the night I was waking up and running to the bathroom with the runs. And into the waking morning hours, but it started to slow down. I didnt eat any breakfast and finally felt well enough to eat something for lunch at around 2:00.

I'm thinking I had like food poisioning or something? maybe a stomach bug? My MIL came over to watch my 16 month old, so I could rest and try to feel better. She thinks that I'm sick from my pregnancy? But I'm not throwing up?

Has anyone else had "morning sickness" or gotten sick like this because of a pregnancy? Does morning sickness only have to be vomiting? I know from my last pregnancy that it doesnt always happen in the morning, but I didnt get sick like this last time. I was just wondering if any of you mama's out there can give me a clue if this was just a bug? or if it's pregnancy related and if so, does it last long?

What can I do next?

I bet its a bout of the tummy bug, it's going around hard. I am sure that pregnancy can have some affects of the sort but if it came on that sudden and from the sounds of it you had what i had 2 weeks ago. Hope you feel better and the other end doesn't happen due to the pregnancy. Good luck

We're in about the same boat with boys around the same age and I'm about 9 weeks along. I have been having a hard time with this pregnancy with severe nausea and throwing up, but I also was getting quite a bit of diarrhea. It was weird to me because pregnancy normally slows things down and causes constipation. I thought it was because I wasn't eating much and when i did it was crackers and such and my body didn't like it. It stopped for me about a week ago, but I had quite a few episodes of it and thought it was odd.

It seems like it would make sense to occur since our bodies are not feeling well and adjusting - the same irritation that is making moms throw up could make our bodies want to reject the food in another way of getting it out quicker through diarrhea. Just try to stay hydrated (easy to say, I know!)

I guess to know for sure you'll have to see if the diarrhea persists. The first time I got sick during my pregnancy (at about 8 wks), I was sick like you. But since my husband was also sick, we figured that we both must have gotten food poisoning (or the flu, I guess). After that one day, I had to deal with morning sickness a little, but it was just typical morning sickness.
