Hi. I was wondering if there is a tummy virus going around now. If so, can you give me a heads up on what to expect? My son has a fever and is complaining about his stomach hurting. I too am having waves of nausea but no fever.

it is harsh and it can knock you down as long as a week. it is vomiting, fever, chills and the whole shebang!!! daughter jsut got over it and had to go to the ER because her fever was so high she almost fainted!!! keep an eye out for fever...if it gets to 102 or close to it bring him in to the hospital so he does not have the same probs my daughter did.

I had it for 2 days. The nausea was exhausting and kept me from sleeping or eating much. It was the worst on the first day, but it didn't feel much better the 2nd. My fever was on and off and so was the nausea. Today, I finally feel like I can eat again, but I'm taking it bland until I feel 100%.

I hope he feels better soon. Poor dear! I'll say a prayer for him. I know it hurts! :(

The rotavirus is making it's annual rounds right now. My oldest son and I have been sick since last Friday - vomiting, diahrrea, nausea - no fever - but we feel like a truck hit us. My youngest is sick also, but not as much vomiting for him probably because he had the rotavirus vaccination. I still feel dizzy and nauseated but I haven't thrown up since yesterday afternoon. It's just not fun! Good luck!

My 7 yo got it the night before Valentine's and missed her party at school. She was in the bathroom for 4 hours before she felt like it was 'safe' to return to bed. Usually, my husband and I don't get sick when she has stomach problems, but by that weekend we were both down. She got a touch of it again 2 weeks later but was over it within hours. We stuck to liquids and the BRAT diet when the liquids were staying down.

My whole family had it last week. No one could keep anything down for about 24 hours, were still very nauseas for another 48. I called the ped at one point and she said half the metroplex seems to have it.

We just did lots of fluids (in small amounts), lots of rest and really bland food for a week.

My 18 month old son has had some kind of tummy virus three times in a month (I don't know if it's the same one but we are scrubbing this house down). My husband & I got it this last time. We've all had vomiting first, then low grade fever(like two degrees high), then diarhea and gassy stomach. We only vomited for a day but remained nauseated and feverish for at least two days after.
Our dr. recommended lots of liquids (once we could keep them down) and then the BRAT (bananas, rice, apples, toast) diet for a few days.
Feel better.

Yep! My daughter had it twice within two weeks. Started vomiting, couldn't keep anything down. If he begins to throw up, cut off any dairy and feed him small amounts of an electrolyte and water until his stomach settles. It too five days for my daughters second round to clear up. She wouldn't eat anything and seemed to basically sleep for three days straight. Her fever got up as high as 104 but nurses at Pedi office said there's not much you can do for stomach flu, you just have to let it run it's course.

I live in Santa Rosa Ca. and I too have a stomach problem that started 2 weeks ago. My stomach aches after I eat and I feel bloated. No diarrhea though and no fever. It feels almost like I need to have a B.M. but I can't go. My Mother had it and she fasted for 3 days only consumming vegetable broth and she says it is gone. I will try the fast and let you know how I feel. So far thats the only way I've heard of getting rid of this Bug. Her neighbor has had it for over a month.

Yes, I think soo...my daughter had it, started vomiting early sun am and through out the day...fever later in the day. She slept most of the day (when she wasn't sick). Monday better, but very tired. Tuesday back to normal, except her stomach hurts, so not eating much, but playing etc. My sil got it and basically hers was teh same thing. My bil got it and a friend and her mom...so yes, I think it's going around. Knock wood - the rest of us hasn't gotten it!! :o)

Good luck!!

She didnt have any vomiting though. Now my 2 yo is running fever and Im starting to feel a little sick. I hope it passes soon- this mommy really needs a break!!!
