I am currently pregnant and about to give birth soon and was wondering what cute ideas you moms have done for your little ones monthly photos? I like the idea of taking monthly photos with my little one and a stuffed animal....but would like to see what other ideas there are :)

What can I do next?

Some of my internet friends have these: http://www.stickybellies.com/stickybellies_productdetail....
They are pretty cute.
Whatever you choose to do I would recommend doing in the same spot each month w/ minimal clothing on. It will make all the growing and changing more apparent.
Congrats! Have fun!

You can take the pics in the same spot with the same stuffed toy or other props to show how much baby has grown...there are also sets of onsies they say 1 month, 2 months, etc. on the front.

We took monthly pictures just with a sign that I wrote up that said ONE MONTH, TWO MONTHS, Etc. We always placed her on the couch with the signs taped to the couch behind her. She is 16 and a half months now but for a Christmas present to the Grandparents we put together scrap books and I dedicated 3 pages of 4 pics each to her monthly photos to show the pregression and it was so cool to see. Im really glad I did it

My cousin made up onsies with 1 month...2 months...3 months, etc. written on them and took pics of her kids sitting in the same spot so we could actually see their growth progress...SO freaking cute!

She even saved a couple special outfits (she had 2 girls, 2 years apart) and took pictures of each child in the same outfit at the same age so she could compare and contrast the girls...I stole this idea and did it with my 2 boys too!

well you didnt state what you are having but here are my ideas.
for a boy you can use sports things (basketball, etc). for a newborn pic have him lay in an adult size baseball mitt :). when he is sitting you can get a bow tie and a top hat and do him (naked, in a suit, or just a dress shirt).

girls-
when she is newborn you can lay her on a stack of white towels and tie a ribbon around her like a present. when she is sitting you can dress her up all fancy with beads and such.

you can also do any theme thats going on durring the time of year- mardi gras, spring, summer, st. patricks day etc.

A friend of mine owns a company called See Baby Grow (www.seebabygrow.com) and she sells onesies and t-shirts that say "I'm 1 month old" etc. Also my sweet baby girl is one of her models :)

When my oldest was little we took a picture of her by a sign that had the date and how old she was. By about 4 months this got really hard to do as she would wiggle and move and try to eat the sign. haha

I like the idea of taking it in the same spot every month with the same stuffed animal. I've seen the onesies with the number of months on them in people's pictures, or one friend took the picture in the baby's crib with a little sign that said how many months he was.

My fiance got me a normal-sized 'new mom 2010' shirt, that I had planned on putting her in every month. Watch her grow into it... take a pic. every month until one year, then every year after that.. but it got lost when we moved. :( My aunt did that, her DD is 25 now, and it's fun watching the baby grow into the adult sized shirt.

I have also seen people buying the same outfit in every size, then every month get her in the same setting, same outfit. That way you are focused on the differences in the baby. (I would probably do that one WITH the stuffed animal, for size. lol.)

I took monthly pictures of my daughter on her Gund froggy "blanket", starting on her 1 month birthday until she was 1 year. I took them in different outfits, sometimes just her diaper, but always with her stretched out fully on the frog. I love these pictures now because they make it really clear how big she got month by month and her froggy became a favorite in the process. I bought the blue dog version for my son and am excited to take his first picture tomorrow. Congrats and good luck!

After I gave my son a bath, I parted his hair randomly. My brother walks by and exlaimed that he looked like the Addams Family Baby!! Which he did! So the next day I took him out in his stripped out fit, drew a mustache on him with eyeliner, and took pictures of him. Those were his 6ish month pictures. I'll post my favorite one on my profile, just give me a sec and it will be up.
Oh I'm also not a huge fan of the sit and pose type pictures. I prefer a story or something fun with my pictures.

Get a disposable camera and use it only on baby's month birthdays. That way when you get it developed you can really see the growth.

One of the first pictures we took of DD was Dh holding her in one hand, against his chest, in a diaper. She had the "froggy" pose going on, we do repeated pictures of him holding her in the same position. (now trying very hard to balance 27 lbs in one hand) The 1st is one of my favorite pics, & I put it on a mug for him for fathers day last year, its his favorite cup. (I have a matching mug with a different, but same time period picture of her on it, he gave it to me for mothers day last year)

I know someone who bought a lil kids recliner chair. Each month she put the baby in the chair starting from birth. It's cute to see how he just laid there for the first couple of months but then as they progress he sits up and you can see how much taller he is.

We use a pillow that sits on our couch. We sit that baby next to it, near it etc and then we write on a blank piece of paper his name the date and how many months he is. We did it withour older son too his entire first year!

My MIL had a Chihuahua, about the size of my very little daughter . So every month we would have a picture taken with S and Sushi. For the first four months we laid them both on their backs. When S could sit we would hold the dog in the same position. At two S was holding the dog in her lap. Sushi was a very patient chihuahua.
We continued this at my daughter's birthdays until she was 3, then we moved away, but every time we came home we woud take a picture. The dog died when my dauhgter was 10.

We did the monthly photos of her laying next to her Tickle Me Elmo...the first 6 or 7 months Elmo was longer and then she caught up. I think I did it for 2 years.

Find a spot in your home that will grow with the child and take photos there each time if possible. I have one wall in my home that I started taking photos each year, especially 1st day of school. That way you can see how much they grow. A tree outside is good also to show the growth of the tree.
Then we always take one in front of the Christmas tree for the same reason!
For professional photo shoots, I always take my own prop-Christmas bear, EAster basket, chair, favorite toy, etc.
And please print some out and put in albums-elderly relatives don't do facebook or want to look at a computer screen!
Congrats on the baby!

VERY CUTE weekly photo project...

http://www.younghouselove.com/photo-gallery-2/claras-week...

Fyi, they photoshopped the "X weeks" on the onesie, and got fabric pieces on sale/clearance to use each week. They are now, as the baby's first birthday approaches, going to make something commemorative with all the fabrics... a quilt, perhaps... they have some other really cute ideas for the fabrics, too... Such a cute idea all the way around.
