Have you seen the movie The Business of Being Born? It is a must!
Are there moms here who used midwives? What were your experiences? I am pregnant and I need help in finding a good midwife. Please recommend to me the midwives whom you love. Thanks moms!

I had my first child at home two years ago. It was the best decision I made and started our bond. We used Mary Henderson, her apprentice is Nedra. They are both absolutely wonderful.
We went with a homebirth midwife initially because we didn't have insurance - and are now totally hooked! There's no going back once you've experienced good midwifery care. Our midwives are Wendi Cleckner and Sarah Blum-Sheller of Global Midwifery in Chandler, and they're awesome. We also recommend Sue DiSilvestro and Stephanie Soderblom. Cheers!
Pam White delivered my second baby after my first was born at the hospital. The difference in the two births was amazing. Pam's professionalism and experience were obvious in the visits leading up to the birth and her support in the moment was wonderful. My husband especially felt much more confident with Pam than he did in the hospital birth. A big switch for a guy who didn't want home birth with the first!
We cannot say enough about how much we enjoyed having Pam at our daughter's birth. I would DEFINITELY do it again
Marinah is amazing. http://sagemidwifery.com/
As is Mary. http://marythemidwife.com/
You'll find that most of the midwives in town are amazing at what they do, so it'll be more about who you connect with best. Good luck!
Good for you for checking out all of your options. My experience of giving birth at home was amazing. My midwives were so awesome and supportive before, during, and after my birth. I had a very specific birth plan. They were very respectful and flexible with what we wanted. They gave me support when I needed it and got out of my way when I just wanted to be with my husband. They are so well trained and know what thy are doing. Home birth with a midwife is less risky than in a hospital. I had Pam Qualls and Allison Haasch. Pam is in Glendale and Allison is out East. Allison was studying to be a midwife at that time but is now a licensed midwife. Pam's number is ###-###-#### and her website is http://www.ablessedbeginningchildbirthservices.com and here are her reviews http://www.ratemds.com/filecache/doctor-ratings.jsp?did=3... . Allison's number is ###-###-#### and her website is http://lifespringmidwifery.com/wordpress/ . I can't tell you how nice it was to give birth on MY time (not some doctor's time that they induce labor and cause a c section so they get home faster). Also it was so nice to be at home without my husband and son withou all the interruptions that you have in a hospital. The cost was a lot cheaper for me and Pam got my insurance to cover it. Good luck!
Hi J.,
I just had my second child and Pam White was my midwife. She was AWESOME. It was very easy to communicate with her and she made sure that we always understood all the options and the pros and cons of the decisions we had to make throughout. I would recommend her to anyone. Good luck!
