Please, continue to be patient and don't use any of these shaming techniques! It could be extremely detrimental to her emotional well-being if you tell her that she's yucky or a baby for pooping in her pants. :( However, I do think it can be helpful to tell her that it feels better to go in the potty than have it in her pants and get all dirty. She needs to have the desire to go potty, the intrinsic motivation. I think that both punishments and rewards will set you back on this.

Also, next fall is a long time off. :)

Persoanlly I think people want their kids to be potty trained before the child is ready. If the child isn't ready they do these things. My oldest was potty trained at 4 and had no problems after she trained herself. She trained older but she knew what she nedded to do and I never had any problems with her and the potty.

hi L.!

my daughter does the same thing. just turned 3 and is perfectly potty trained EXCEPT for the poopie thing:-) i am very grateful though, that she asks for a pull up once a day to do her "business"...

i bought a toy~one of the thomas tank engines~and told her if she poopies on the potty, i would be very happy to give it to her. my daughter LOVE LOVE LOVES thomas the tank engine, but still cannot manage to "allow" the poop to leave her body. so this shows me that this is something very difficult for her.

a lot of other moms have written about this very same thing, so u are not alone. just give her a little more time, and try a few incentives.

wish u the best,
J.

One congradulations on being clean that is a blessing...

GOOD JOB...

WELL ONE THING I CAN SAY IS LET YOUR CHILD KNOW THAT WHEN SHE STARTS SCHOOL SHE NEEDS TO USE THE POTTY FOR THE OTHER STUFF OR OTHER CHILDREN WILL LOOK AT HER AS IF SHE IS A BABY...

ALSO HAVE HER IMAGIN MOMMY AND DADDY DOING THAT AND ASK HER WHAT SHE WOULD SAY TO THAT?

WE DID THIS WITH OUR DAUGHTER AS WELL. AND TODAY SHE MAKES IT TO THE POTTY AND SHE IS 6 AND IN SCHOOL AND WHEN I SAY TO HER HAVE YOU IMAGINED MOMMY GOING IN HER PANTS SHE BEGINS TO LAUGH AND SAYS MOMMY YOUR GROSS...

BUT TO OUR DAUGHTER HAS A MED. PROBLEM WERE SHE WEARS PULL UP AND GET HOME CATHERED...

SO WE HAD TO CONVICE HER TO GO POTTY ON THE BIG POTTY..

THINGS WILL WORK OUT JUST KEEP TALKING. CHILDREN HEAR US JUST THEY HEAR WHAT THEY CHOOSE TO HERE...

LET ME KNOW HOW ALL GOES.

Well, this might sound kinda yucky, but I have potty trained both a little girl and just recently a little boy. I wouldnt let them put a pull up on and just let them pop in there pants and tell them how gross and mess it is to do that. It might not work the first time but after you keep telling them that it is gross, not in a funny way tho (boys normaly find it funny). Explain to her that shes a little lady and they dont go poo in there pants, and that she HAS to use the potty! I hope this helped.
**Also if she has a place where she hides to poo put her potty chair there, or something that makes it more diffecult for her to be comfortable in her poo area..lol

Be proud of your self for being clean for four years. I sure am. I have found that it can take a while for a child to poop on the potty, sometimes a year from learning how to pee on the potty. Children feel like they are loosing something from there body when they poop on the potty. Like they have no control. Just let her know that she has to start pooping on the potty. One thing I found was to let her feet on the stool in front of her, so that she has some control on her bowel movements. I know that might sound wierd, but it works. Good luck.
