My daughter is a missionary to Papua New Guinea and she is desparately seeking outdoor games for preschoolers. She has just been put in charge of the staff for 300 preschoolers and has two of her own. They need to require no electricity she that is difficult for them to obtain in the location they are in.
Does anyone have any ideas?

What can I do next?

Do they have any balls to play with? What kind of equipment does she have? They could play kick ball, hot potato, dodge ball.
Otherwise, how about red light-green light, Mother May I, Duck Duck Goose, Freeze Tag.
They could do treasure hunts, finding items that are in their surroundings.
I don't know what kinds of supplies she has?? Rope for jump rope...hula hoops, she could make an obstacle course.
Simon says could be a fun exercise one..simon says touch your toes, touch your head etc.
-Hopscotch

i use a book titled 'Every Day in Every Way' with our homeschool preschool group the author is cynthia holley and faraday burditt. it is not from a christian perspective but i just omit those activities. you can search a site called lovetolearn.org. they might have a preschool curriculum book you could mail her. i have missionary friends at PNG as well =)

Dear Chritina,

The ideas thar others have presented are great! If there are funds to purchase or make a sturdy play parachute, a balance beam and music makng tools. Puzzles are great as well. My friend has a website that offers some great products. If there isn't money to purchase these kind of items they can be created for fairly cheap.

Good luck to your daughter!

She can get balls and play catch or kick ball.

put water in a tub with plastic animals or fish they love playing in water.

Make bubbles they love to chase them.

Bring books and a blanket outside and let the children sit in the shade looking at books.
Most things in a classroom can be brought outside for the children to explore. Good luck and no electricity needed.

Hi
Some great books I recommend:
The toddler busy book
501 TV free activities for kids

You can probably get these at your local books store, ebay, amazon etc and have them mailed to her.
Good luck

The outdoor activities that my 2.25 y.o. children like to play are racing (we call it go/stop), drawing with chalk, & going thru an obstacle course. The indoor activities for rainy days are a pillow pond (throw a bunch of pillows together and put blankets over to help contain the pillows), building a fort/house or an indoor obstacle course.
