Just to share, This morning I was taking a bath, soaking my tired feet, and reflecting on all the things I accomplished this week. I could hear my two boys laughing and playing in the living room, and my oldest was singing a song I taught him yesterday that set me to thinking about what a great week we had together. You know how sometimes when you are really proud of your parenting; when the decision you made was the RIGHT decision (which is sometimes a rare thing); you are up in the clouds,feel like the lead of the parade, when suddenly something pulls you back down to earth. Well here i was sitting in a tub of hot water thinking that I deserved the Mother of the Year Award, and mid thought like a snap of the fingers - the showerhead slips out of its holder and falls on my head!!! (WHACK) As I recover, my youngest starts screaming and when I run out to check on him i find my oldest pinning him down and with a shoe in each hand (of all things) he is hitting him in the back. 2 and 3 by the way... so what do i take from this?? I guess be careful how far you let yourself float - the higher you get the worse the fall hurts... lol
hahaha!!! I just love your responses ladies!! Im glad I could bring you all smiles and laughs... Those are definately the times that I cherish - keeping my sanity by focusing on the good and working thru the bad... Honestly its a rollercoaster for me, mommy to two boys and going through a divorce after 8 years, and some days I have to smile to not cry... but I find those little moments in my day and hold onto the joy they give me. And sometimes we do get a little big for our britches dont we!? Beware of the showerhead ladies! I still have a bump on the top of my head!! lol
Please, just for having one lovely moment, I think you deserve the award. This week it has not even been close at my house. the oldest is at his first sleepover and daddy took the youngest to the ball park. I'm all alone wondering why no one needs me any more :(

i'm sorry but that is HYSTERICAL...(i hope you can see the humor in it and i'm not hurting your feelings). talk about a reality check lol.....me i would see that as karma lol. ("that's what i get for getting too big for my britches!" lol!)or god having a sense of humor, etc....i think we take it with a grain of salt. of course you're a great mom! great story lol.

As I began reading, I thought, "Wow, glad someone had a good week!" We've had two rough weeks in a row! I am feeling horrible about my parenting right now! Glad it's a 3 day weekend!
Yeah, mine were good yesterday. Today, back to their usual selves. I'm pretty sure I'm out of the running for the Mom of year award. But that's okay 'cause I can picture the older one chasing his sister around trying to hit her with the trophy. It's just like that. You're probably doing pretty well on average.
A group of friends were talking the other day and for some reason the subject of your kids moving back in was brought up. I just told them that kind of thing does not happen if you do things right. My friend said, "There is a right way?" I told them the best is an electric fence around your property!! We are all human and the sooner you accept the good with the bad the easier it will be.
