I am looking for a mom & baby yoga or pilates class in the Alexandria/Springfield area. I just had a baby girl about 2 months ago and I am looking for a way to tone myself up a bit.

What can I do next?

I teach My Baby Moves Me classes to moms and babies under 12months, or pre-walking.

I taught it when my baby was that young until she started walking at 9months. Now I can simulate having her... once they start getting around, it's over!

The routine is is a great workout... Pilates based, so the abs get it the most, but by the end of the class, your whole body feels exercised.

I second Pure Prana! Kathy is the most wonderful teacher and focuses on toning up problems areas; core, arms, tummy, thighs and also on stretches that help relieve alot of "new mother" pains in the shoulders and neck.
She creates a wonderful atmosphere for the children and focuses on helping along their little digestive tracts and such.
It was a great learning class, being as I had never experienced yoga before and I still practice sun salutations, stretches and centering when I am having a tough day.
I recommend buying a group of classes than single classes, it saves a bit of money.
Good luck!

Hi, I live in OR, but just discovered a wonderful mom & baby pilates DVD, Synthecore. www.synthecore.com
The instructor has a great way of describing the exercises. I've done it about a dozen times so far and my baby loves seeing the baby in the video and let's me get thru the whole workout. anyway, good luck.
